The list of civilian awards in the eve of Republic Day is out. 112 awards are announced out of which there are 4 Padma Vibhushan, 14 Padma Bhushan and 94 Padma Shri are announced.
At the Arts – lyrics front legendary writer : Sirivennela Seetaramasastry is crowned with Padma Shri.
Seetaramasastry from Anakapalle, Andhra Pradesh has left his MBBS course and turned into a lyricist after being inspired by K Vishwanath’s Sankarabharanam. He has got his tag ‘Sirivennela’ from the movie name where he has penned down the songs which became a super musical hit.
Recent days lyricists, Chandra bose and Ramajogayya Shastry will treat Sastry as their guruji.
