In a heartbreaking incident, a 52-year-old woman and her 32-year-old daughter from Mancherial, Telangana, lost their lives in a road accident near Chicago, United States, on Saturday. The victims, identified as Rama Devi and Tejaswi, died instantly when the family’s car was struck by a trailer. Several other family members sustained injuries in the crash.
According to relatives in India, Rama Devi and her husband P. Vignesh, a retired employee of Singareni Collieries, had travelled to the US to visit their two daughters, Sravanthi and Tejaswi, who are both settled there after marriage. The family, known to reside in Reddy Colony, Mancherial, had been looking forward to spending time together after a long gap.
Tejaswi, the younger daughter, had recently purchased a new home in the US. The family had performed the Gruha Pravesam (housewarming ceremony) just a few days before the tragedy. On the day of the accident, Tejaswi, her husband Kiran Kumar, their two young children, Rama Devi, and Vignesh, were reportedly on their way to Sravanthi’s home to celebrate her son’s birthday.
Tragically, their journey was cut short when a speeding truck collided with their car, leading to the fatal crash. Local authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident. Family members back in Mancherial are devastated by the news. Friends and neighbours have gathered at their residence to offer condolences and support to the grieving family.
