Whether Naidu has any action plan for the implementation of reservation for Kapus or not , political observers say, the TDP supremo has a perfect master plan to meet the challenge Pawan Kalyan’s plunge into full-time politics might throw up before 2019.
Recently movie star Pawan categorically said he would become full-timer in politics after doing a couple of movies for sustenance. So, his return to public life is certain. What is not clear is the stand Pawan Kalyan would take. Would he transform his Jana Sena into a full-fledged political party? Would he join BJP? Would he remain an ally of TDP? or create Tsunami like Arvind Kejriwal? According to party sources, Naidu is preparing the party to meet any eventuality .
Insiders say Naidu doesn’t require Pawan’s help in 2019. Naidu traveled a long way as the chief minister of the state and his son Lokesh also has gained experience apart from earning good will from the schemes and projects initiated in the past 22 months, especially the Capital Amaravati Project. This was not the case in 2014, in the aftermath of bifurcation of the state, when Naidu desperate to have friends to take on Jagan who looked invincible.
Still Naidu is devising strategies to make Pawan’s impact on state politics minimal or nil. According to some TDP sources, the strategy is like this: Pawan’s principal constituency is Kapus. Outside Kapu voters, Pawan is not a force to reckon with. So, Naidu wants to lure all important Kapu leaders into TDP fold and offer Kapus voter benefits liberally from government schemes. The sources opine, the loans of Kapu Corporation might be waived and this would be announced at an appropriate time.
Now, the task of neutralizing the hostile elements among the Kapus will be given to YSRC MLA Jyothula Nehru, who is joining TDP on April 11. After Nehru and Varpula Subbarao , TDP’s likely Kapu target is Dadisetti Raja, MLA from Tuni, who is implicated in Tuni violence cases. These cases have apparently made Raja a soft target. Naidu is said to have entrusted Jyothula Nehru with the responsibility of luring Raja into TDP. The argument goes, once all prominent leaders are with TDP by 2019, there would be none left for Pawan Kalyan to mobilize even if he transforms into a pucca politician.
The plan is to force Pawan Kalyan go the way of Lok Satta’s Jayaprakash Narayan, throw the party to winds and remain active on Twitter, they sources say.
