Since not a single job is created in the past 22 months, Andhra Pradesh government is planning to implement the scheme of unemployed allowance from next financial year.
Unemployed allowance is going to be the major announcement in the budget finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu going to present to Assembly in the first week of March, 2016.
Wary of opposition leader Jaganmohan Reddy’s attempt to mobilize youth and students in the name of Yuva Bheri, the government is trying to take the wind out of the sails of the Opposition leader.
To highlight the joblessness of Andhra Pradesh youth, and inability of the state government to fill the vacancies in the state government Jaganmohan Reddy has organized Yuva Bheris in Tirupati, Vizag, Kakinada etc.
Jagan’s plan is to rally the students and youth against the TDP’s failure to implement its poll promise – one job to each and every family in the state , and if there is no job, an unemployed allowance of Rs 2000 for each youth. Jagan wants to divert this disillusionment among the youth to his campaign for special status to Andhra Pradesh and build a students’ movement against TDP governnment.
Sensing that trouble may crop up from Jagan’s sustained campaign against the TDP’s unmet promise of jobs and unemployed allowance, the state government has decided to implement the allowance to eligible unemployed.
This was revealed by finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Friday, who completed the budget preparation exercise this afternoon. Ramakrishnudu wound up the exercise by holding talks with all cabinet ministers who presented their priorities to the budget preparation team of finance department .
Talking about the budget priorities, the finance minister said budget revolves around the theme of drought proofing of the state. The other priorities, according to the finance minister, are providing unemployed allowance and poverty eradication.
” The government will soon take a decision on the regularisation of contract employees. Similarly, the next cabinet meeting will discuss the recruitment for Group-I and Group-II categories,” he said. Ramakrishnudu said the state had entered into 900 MoU with private companies and he was expecting huge flow of investments into the state.
