In a move with far reaching consequences, the state government today decided to promote scheduled caste and scheduled tribe entrepreneurs from every village. The government will identify five to six potential entrepreneurs and assist them in setting up units by giving them training and arranging bank credit. This way state wants to promote at least one lakh SC and ST entrepreneurs from 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh on a pilot basis. Similarly, the state will identify meritorious students from these section to groom them to get admissions to IIT, IIM and other institutes of national repute and also to crack the civil services exams. Social welfare minister Ravela Kishore Babau briefed the chief minister about the programs of the department in the review meeting held by CM in Vijayawada camp office.
