Opposition leader Jaganmohan Reddy addressed BC Garjana public meeting at Elur in West Godavari district. BC Welfare Association National President R. Krishnaiah and others were present. The meeting was held amid TDP allegations that lot of TRS leaders arrived from Telangana to make it a success. This was necessary as from the beginning BCs were mostly associated with the TDP ever since NTR founded the party.
Jagan announced countless gifts and called upon the BCs to reject and not to trust TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu as he has done injustice to them. In TDP declaration prior to 2014 polls, Naidu made 119 promises but not one of them was implemented properly. What happened to the promise of free education from KG to PG? he asked. Fee reimbursement scheme is also diluted as the TDP government is giving just Rs. 30,000 while engineering education is costing Rs. 1 lakh per year.
Jaganmohan Reddy made a novel promises of 50 per cent reservations for BCs in nominated posts. The Rs. 15,000 crore budget allocation would be made for their welfare. In all, 139 corporations will be formed to ensure justice to the backward classes communities. Jagan criticised CBN for not filling 2.4 lakh jobs in the past five years.
