Billed as a historical drama which narrates the story of the great Satavahana ruler, Gauthamiputra Satakarni has Nandamuri Balakrishna playing the titular role and creative filmmaker Krish is directing it. Shriya Saran has been roped in to play the film’s leading lady and popular Bollywood yesteryear actress Hema Malini is essaying a crucial role in this historical film.
The crazy combination of Balakrishna and Krish has been creating a solid buzz on the film and the pre release business is expected to be huge. According to the latest reports from close sources, the satellite rights of Gauthamiputra Satakarni have been snapped by MAA TV for a whopping 9 Crore rupess, a record price in Balakrishna’s career so far. Reportedly, the makers are very much surprised with the offer and it is learnt that MAA TV has already paid some advance to make the deal official. However, we have to wait for a formal announcement about this buzz.
The regular shooting is happening at a rapid rate and the film is slated to hit the screens for Sankranthi. First Frame Entertainment banner is bankrolling the film. Devi Sri Prasad, who was supposed to compose the soundtrack, exited the project and Chirantan Bhatt has replaced him.
