Jagan’s lessons to media

Jagan today morning convened a press meet to respond on TDP exiting the NDA government. During the press meet, though he appreciated TDP’s decision, called it people victory. Meanwhile he criticized TDP for corruption of political defections. While speaking on political defections, he took a “class” to media and taught some lessons to media.

Jagan told, everybody knows Chandra babu Naidu is buying our (YSRCP’s) MLA by spending 20-30 crores. Jagan told, this has to be criticized by media as it is unconstitutional but most of the media is glorifying CBN for this. He added, media is called fourth estate and they have some responsibilities. They should stay away from glorifying TDP or CBN (for his political acumen) whenever YSRCP MLA defects into TDP as CBN is buying them with money.

What Jagan told is perfectly correct. Political defections, done by any party, should not be encouraged by media. But it has to be remembered that this trend is started by Sakshi media owned by Jagan. Before 2004, political defections were not of this magnitude. It stared during YSR’s regime and Operation Akarsha was glorified in Sakshi paper and TV. Also, after Jagan floating party, political defections into YSRCP from congress and other parties were glorified by Jagan’s own media. There were so many debates in his media about whether he will be able to pull-off congress government led by Kiran Kumar Reddy or not.

So, maybe, someone needs to be remind Jagan about the same glorification done during YSR’s operation akarsha and during defections into YSRCP by his onw Sakshi media.
