Mahanati makers edited out ‘Pushpavalli’ role

Savitri biopic Mahanati has Keerthi Suresh in titular role and Dulqueer Salmaan as Gemini Ganeshan. The honest biopic also has an ensemble cast portraying different characters who were a part of Savitri’s eventful life.

Initially, director Nag Aswhin wanted to showcase the story of Gemini Ganeshan’s second wife Pushpavalli and shot a few scenes on them. But, their track has been left out in the final cut due to unknown reasons.

The little portion involving Pushpavalli and her daughter Rekha were chopped off after the final dubbing has been completed.

Bindu Chandramouli, the character artist who portrayed Pushpavalli role, is very disappointed to see her portion missing in the final copy. She revealed that a scene and two song montages have been shot with Savitri character.

She termed the working experience as amazing and thanked the whole team for the opportunity.
