Police petition court for custody of Jagan’s shirt

Visakhapatnam police have filed a petition in the court for taking custody of the shirt worn by Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy at the time of knife attack in the airport there recently. Vizag ACP L Arjun has said that the shirt carries blood stains resulting from knife injuries and it plays a crucial role in establishing the nature of attack.

Immediately after the attack, Jagan changed his shirt at the airport and left for Hyderabad by a flight. It is not yet known whether the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) looking after airport security has seized the shirt. The CISF has just handed over accused and not vital evidence like Jagan’s shirt till now.

The Special Investigation Team officials are verifying call data of attacker Srinivasa Rao. They are calling for questioning several persons with whom Srinivasa Rao spoke many times in the months prior to the incident.
