Veteran actor Prakash Raj is playing a crucial role in Varanasi, a big-budget attempt directed by SS Rajamouli featuring Superstar Mahesh Babu in the lead role. Bollywood actor Rajat Kapoor was on board for the role but he was replaced due to creative differences. Prakash Raj was later roped in for the role and he completed a couple of schedules for the film recently. During an event, Prakash Raj revealed about his role in Varanasi and he said that he plays an admirant and follower of Lord Shiva in the film. There are rumors that Prakash Raj will be seen essaying the role of Mahesh Babu’s father in Varanasi.
“I am working in Rajamouli’s Varanasi. I play Maha Shiva Bhakt in the film” told the veteran actor. Prakash Raj is a part of crazy films like Prabhas’ Spirit and Drishyam 3. He is back to the busy phase after a while. SS Rajamouli said that the shoot of Varanasi is 50 percent complete and the team is working to complete the entire shoot before August this year. The film is announced for April 7th, 2027 release in theatres. Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran will be seen in other prominent roles in this mythological action drama.
