Prof Kodand to launch ‘Sampurna TS’ movement Tomorrow

Prof Kodandaram, chairman of T-JAC, is planning a new movement from tomorrow on wards. He said the there was need to launch a movement to achieve “Sampurna Telangana” (complete Telangana), a Telangana free of Andhra Pradesh influence in every aspect of life in TS.

Kodandaram, who has not been given role in the ‘official reconstruction’ Telangana,  seems to have derived inspiration from the Purna Swaraj movement of Indian National Congress in 1930. Indian National Congress which wanted to severe all its connections with the England, met in Lahore on December 31, 1929 and approved a pledge that ‘Purna Swaraj’ (completed self-rule or Independce) was the objective of the Congress party.  To that extent the Purna Swaraj day was observed across India with people reading out the pledge on January 26, 1930.

August 6, the day of birth anniversary of Prof K Jaisankar, has been chosen to launch movement to exert pressure on the central government to help create complete Telangana.

According to Kodandaram, the Telangana state which was the result of the long and protracted struggle is not yet free from Andhra Pradesh hegemony. Even though the state was officially created 14 months back on July 2, 2014, the division of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh was not complete- bifurcation of High Court was pending, along with division of state level employees. Justifying the delay in the recruitment for jobs, the Osmania professor said the delay was stemming from the Andhra’s continued control on many areas. He gave a call for the achievement of ‘Sampuran Telangana’  from Gajwel town where he interacted with  farmers as part of a bus yatra, organized by Rythu JAC. “Drawing inspiration from teachings of Jaisankar sir we should mobilize pressure on the centre to ensure that the Telangana state is completely created,” he said.

Prof Kodand called upon the people, employees, workers, students etc, to organize rallies, meetings, protest camps across the state.

He said the people were being denied the fruits of separate Telangana state because Andhras dominance was still there everywhere. Telangana people were not getting justice as the High Court was dominated by Andhras, he said.
