That maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma and Akkineni Nagarjuna have teamed up for a cop thriller is a known news. Titled as Officer, the film’s production is on the verge of completion.
Nagarjuna is playing an irreverent cop who starts a mission to save his daughter. Since the past few weeks, speculations are rife that the story of Officer is inspired by foreign film ‘Taken’ which has a familiar ‘father – girl’ plot.
Slamming these rumours, RGV denied any resemblance with ‘Taken’. He asserted that Officer story is not inspired or lifted from any other film. He said that the only resemblance is that it is a story of a cop and his daughter.
Officer is slated for May 25th release.
