Revanth criticizes Pawan

Congress leader and Kodangal MLA A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday criticized power star and founder of Janasena Party Mr. Pawan Kalyan over his meeting with Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and for praising the government’s new initiation – 24 hours power supply to farmers.

Speaking at a press conference held at Gandhi Bhavan, Mr. Revanth said that KCR was misguiding public with his magic words. “Pawan Kalyan fell into the trap of KCR’s magic words and supporting him. What the former Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy said earlier on power issues after bifurcation of the state is correct. With foresight, the then AICC chief Sonia Gandhi divided the state based on the consumption of power and she allocated 54 per cent to Telangana state,” he said.

Mr. Revanth advised Pawan Kalyan to read the book wrote by the expert in electricity sector and electricity JAC leader Mr. Raghu. “Pawan should know facts on power sector and he should aware on the exploitation behind it,” he said.

He asked Pawan to recollect earlier tweets by minister KTR which state ‘Pawan is an enigma’. “KCR did not generate even single unit of additional power in the last three years. Congress government commissioned power projects at Bhupalapally (600MW), Jaipur (1,200MW) and Mahbubnagar (240MU). The initiations by the previous government are leading to the present surplus power generation in Telangana state,” he said.

Revanth further said, “Farmers are not seeking 24 hours power supply but asking qualitative power for 9 hours during morning hours and not at midnights. Government should aware on why 56 lakh farmers refused 24 hours power supply. The government just wanted to benefit the power companies, which were shutdown earlier. I don’t know what qualities of KCR attracted Pawan. In the last three-and-half years, the CM visited secretariat for just four times. Pawan should study on the issues in Telangana and should give an explanation to public.”
