Nandamuri Balakrishna’s cult classic ‘Aditya 369’, which released on August 18 1991, will be celebrating its Silver Jubliee tomorrow. The crowd pleasing science fiction thriller was directed by popular director Singeetham Srinivas and produced on Sridevi Movies banner. The film, a first of its kind in Tollywood at that time, went on to became a big success with 9 Crores theatrical share.
The film also bagged huge appreciation for its high technical values and the fictional future setup became a talking point in those days. Balakrishna played dual roles and his appearance as Sri Krishnadeva Raya made an indelible mark in the hearts of the audience. The music composed by maestro Illayaraja and VSR Swamy’s cinematography are the biggest assets for this film.
On the eve of its 25th anniversary, producer Shivalenka Prasad is going to interact with the media later today. The sequel for Aditya 369 was on cards for quite sometime now and it would be interesting to see if the producer makes an official announcement about it.
