The upcoming Amaravati Capital is going to have solar powered vehicles. This is chief minister Chandrababu Naidu’s plan to keep the city green and clean. Naidu announced his plan to introduce the solar-powered vehicles in the new capital as part the of the state’s mega plan to harness the solar power in a big way in future. Addressing media in Vijayawada, the chief minister said solar-powered vehicles would be introduced on pilot basis.
He disclosed that the state of Andhra Pradesh would concentrate on harnessing the solar power to meet the power needs of the state. ” The whole world is moving towards Solar power and India was in an advantageous position as far as Solar power is concerned over many countries in the world,” he said.
Talking about the electrification of left over village, Naidu said the state had set March 2016 as the target to complete the electrification of habitations. ” By March 2016, there will no village in Andhra Pradesh without power supply,” he added.
Assuring a vibrant future for Rayalaseema region , the chief minister said the region would be developed as Horticulture Hub and Agro processing Hub. ” Now Rayalaseema is witnessing an unprecedented development. Special interest was shown on Rayalaseema during my negotiations with CEOs of global companies, ” he said adding that the state was developing a ” New Vision for Agriculture” and it would be in place from March 1, 2016.
From the coming season, he said, about 25 to 30 crops would be identified to bring under modern cultivation and the produce would be marketed globally.
Expressing satisfaction over the talks he held with CEO’s of about 38 companies at Davos, the CM said he was hopeful that many companies would turn towards Andhra Pradesh as their next destination.
