A woman attempts suicide near CMO in Tadepalli

1

A woman named Arudra from Kakinada attempted to commit suicide near the Chief Minister’s Office in Tadepalli on Wednesday. She was immediately rushed to a hospital, where she is said to be stable.

The woman, along with her ailing daughter came to Tadepalli to meet Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. As she had no appointment to meet the chief minister, the officials denied entry for her.

She is said to have lodged a complaint against two constables, one of them working as gunman to Minister for Roads and Buildings Dadisetti Ramalingeswara Rao (Dadisetti Raja) alleging that the constables were not allowing her to sell her house in Kakinada.

Based on her complaint in Spandana on September 12, the police have registered cases against the two constables. They were also called back from their services pending enquiry. One of the two constable’s mother also lodged a complaint against Arudra.

As the case stood like this, the woman tried to meet the chief minister and seek justice. She came all the way from Kakinada to Tadepalli. She tried to enter the road leading to the CMO, along with her ailing daughter.

As the police stopped her, she tried to cut her hand using the iron clip of a writing pad. However, the police who noticed her attempt, stopped her and shifted her to the hospital. The CMO said that the case is being investigated by the police and Arudra had no appointment with the chief minister.

Akhila Flays Denial of Medical Care to Dad

Allagadda MLA Akhila Priya alleged that state police had highhandedly foisted false case on her father Bhuma Nagi Reddy and were denying him appropriate medical care.

Bhuma Nagi Reddy was arrested on charges of abusing the police officials who were on election duty. Court ordered him 14-day judicial custody in Allagadda, Kurnool district.

According to Akhila Priya her father is on hunger strike in the jail in protest against the injustice being meted out to him.

“if anything should happen to him, the State has to be blamed,” she warned.

“The Government is using police to target my father and is always on the lookout to foist cases on him and he is now denied permission to be shifted to NIMS, Hyderabad. Should anything happen to him I will hold the Government responsible,” she told media on Saturday.

She alleged that  a case under SC, ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act had been booked on the dictates of the Chief Minister’s Office.

“When arrested last time, he was shifted from Nandyal hospital to Kurnool and from there to NIMS by the same TDP government. But, this time they are denying him proper medical care,” she said.

Stating that the collector had sent a three-member medical team to examine her father’s health condition to take a decision on shifting him to NIMS, the youngest MLA in Assembly said there was no need for all that as the medical history of Reddy  was readily available.
