Eight months after Etela left, KCR is yet to fill ministerial vacancies

0

It has been almost eight months since Etela Rajender left the KCR cabinet. But, Telangana CM KCR has not yet filled the vacancy. Normally, KCR is known for his quick silver decisions and mercurial manners. His decisions usually leave everyone surprised and their seed leaves people baffled. But, for the first time, KCR has not taken a decision on filling the vacancy in the cabinet for over eight months and that is leaving many surprised.

On several occasions, KCR has promised ministerial berths to seniors like Gutta Sukhender Reddy, former minister Kadiyam Srihari and others. Even Banda Prakash, the Rajya Sabha MP, who was asked to become an MLC, is said to be expecting a ministerial berth. Also, his daughter Kalwakuntla Kavitha is also waiting for some ministerial post. But, despite the vacancy, KCR has not taken any decision so far.

There is also a talk that KCR might replace some of his ministers such as Gangula Kamalakar, Malla Reddy, Satyavati Rathod, Indrakaran Reddy, Puvvada Ajay and Vemula Prashanth Reddy and bring in new ministers. Similarly, Rega Kantha Rao, Madhusudhana Chary and L Ramana too are waiting for their turn.

Usually, KCR is known for his quick decisions. But this time, he has not taken any decision even after eight months. Usually, KCR is not known to consult anyone while making any decisions. In this case too, no one really knows what is in KCR’s mind. Sources say that KCR is weighing several options and this is the reason for the delay.

Etela haunting KCR in MLC polls too!

0

Etela Rajender has already dealt a severe blow to TRS chief and Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao, who was his previous boss, by defeating TRS in recent Huzurabad bypoll.

Etela resigned to TRS and MLA post, joined BJP, challenged KCR and contested Huzurabad bypoll against TRS and won with a big majority of 20,000 votes.

Although KCR spent thousands of crores of rupees and deployed dozens of TRS ministers, MLAs, MLCs, MPs in Huzurabad to defeat Etela, he failed to do so. Etela took revenge on KCR for humiliating him by sacking him from the cabinet in May.

KCR and TRS are yet to recover from Etela’s blow even after a month. Such was the impact of Etela’s blow that KCR, KTR, Harish Rao and KCR’s entire ministers, TRS MLAs, MLCs, MPs were forced to sit on dharnas over paddy procurement issue to divert the attention of people from Etela’s victory.

Despite all this, Etela seems to be in mood to leave KCR and TRS.

He continues to haunt KCR and TRS in upcoming MLC polls under local bodies quota.

Etela hails from Karimnagar district, where 2 MLC seats are going for polls.

TRS fielded two candidates but Etela fielded Ravinder Singh as a TRS rebel candidate to take on TRS as independent candidate.

Ravinder Singh was elected as TRS Mayor for Karimnagar municipal corporation earlier. After his term ended, KCR did not give him any post and sidelined him.

Ravinder Singh is angry at KCR for not nominating him as MLC or given him MLC ticket recently to contest polls.

Etela exploited this situation to his advantage and made Ravinder Singh quit TRS and contest MLC polls as independent candidate to defeat TRS.

Etela is reportedly bearing all the expenses of up to Rs 10 crore on behalf of Singh to lure TRS MPTCs, ZPTCs, sarpanches etc to vote in favour of Singh and defeat TRS.

KCR is shocked at this development and making all the efforts to prevent Etela Rajendar from dealing another blow to him and TRS.

KCR again deployed ministers Harish Rao, Gangula Kamalakar, Koppula Eshwar to Karimnagar to counter Etela’s strategy and ensure victory for TRS.

KCR fears that if Etela succeeds in defeating TRS again in MLC polls, the TRS will weaken further and several TRS MLAs, MPs, MLCs will soon join BJP.

All is not well between Bandi and Eatala

0

All is not well between Huzurabad MLA Eatala Rajender and BJP state chief Bandi Sanjay. Bandi Sanjay is said to be unresponsive to Eatala. Insiders say that Eatala is miffed at this, but at this stage, he is not considering any drastic decisions. Unlike Sanjay, Eatala has no experience of working in a national party and has no ready access in the higher echelons of the party.

Sources close to Eatala say that Bandi Sanjay did not show any interest in holding a victory meet in Huzurabad constituency. There indeed was a rally on the day Eatala was declared the winner. But, no major meeting was planned so far. Sources say that Eatala did broach the subject, but Sanjay did not respond favourably.

However, being a seasoned politician, Eatala is making his moves in earnest. He has recently met Eenadu’s Ramoji Rao and held parleys for over an hour. Similarly, he met the Art of Living Guru Sri Sri Ravishankar at Hyderabad and discussed both politics and spirituality with him. All these visits are said to be preparatory for a longer stint in the BJP. Sources say that despite the challenges, Eatala wants to stick to the BJP. He is said to have met BJP leaders like Perala Sekhar Rao and several others to understand the party’s functional mechanisms.

But one major problem for him is that none of the seniors such as Kishan Reddy, Chintala Ramachandra Reddy, Dr Laxman and even party president Bandi Sanjay are not exactly cooperating with him. He is also upset that some of the party leaders are spreading stories that he would soon join the Congress.

BJP’s Huzurabad candidate Eatala Jamuna richer than her husband

0

Former Telangana minister and BJP candidate for Huzurabad bypoll Eatala Rajender and his wife Eatala Jamuna have combined wealth of over Rs 35 crore but she is richer than him.

This was revealed in the affidavit submitted by Jamuna to the election authorities while filing her nomination for the October 30 bypoll to the Assembly seat.

Jamuna, who had been campaigning with her husband for the last few weeks, filed her papers on behalf of the BJP. According to party sources this has been done as a precautionary measure in case Rajender is arrested before the elections.

Rajender was dropped from the State Cabinet in May by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao following allegations that he encroached on the lands of some farmers in Medak district for the poultry business owned by his wife, son and other family members.

The state government also ordered two probes against Rajender for allegedly encroaching farmers’ lands in Medak district and endowment lands in Medchal Malkajgiri district.

He had later resigned from ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and also quit from Assembly. Rajender joined BJP in June.

Rajender’s wife on Monday filed her nomination for Huzurabad bypoll. The 56-year-old, who has studied up to Class 12, is a businesswoman.

Jamuna stated in her affidavit that her annual income was Rs 1,33,40,372, while that of her husband was Rs 30,16,592.

According to the affidavit, she has movable assets of over Rs 28.68 crore, but her husband owns movable assets of only Rs 6.20 lakh.

Jamuna’s movable assets include two Innova vehicles while Rajender has no vehicle in his name. She also has 1,500 grams of gold jewelry worth Rs 50 lakh. She has given personal loans/advances to the tune of Rs 23.23 crore.

Her immovable assets are worth Rs 4.89 crore while Rajender owns immovable assets of Rs 3.62 crore.

Jamuna’s liabilities are Rs 4.89 crore while that of her husband are Rs 3.62 crore.

Meanwhile, Rajender alleged that if the Huzurabad bypoll was conducted in a free and fair manner, the TRS would not even get its security deposit back.

He alleged that the ruling party has spent Rs 4,700 crore to win the bypoll. He also alleged that Chief Minister KCR is hatching plans at Pragathi Bhavan, while Finance Minister T. Harish Rao is implementing them.

Rajender is likely to file his nomination in a day or two. The constituency is likely to see a three-cornered contest.

TRS candidate Gellu Srinivas Yadav has already filed the nomination while Congress party has named Balamoor Venkat as its candidate.

As per the schedule announced by the Election Commission of India last week, the last date for filing of nominations is October 8.

Scrutiny of nominations will be taken up on October 11. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is October 13. Polling will be held on October 30 while counting will be taken up on November 2. The entire poll process has to be completed by November 5.
