Pretty actress Keerthy Suresh has pinned all her hopes on the much awaited Summer release Mahanati, a biopic which chronicles the life of iconic yesteryear actress Savitri.

Mahanati is a crucial film for Keerthy Suresh as she is eyeing a spot among top league actresses after its release. Current generation star heroines like Samantha, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh etc are no longer preferred by filmmakers of big ticket films. Happening beauties like Pooja Hegde, Kiara Advani and Anu Emanuel are now ruling the roost at present with plump offers behind star heroes.

Keerthi Suresh, who set sights on becoming the most sought after actress with Nenu Shailaja and MCA, received a huge jolt to her career after the debacle of Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyathavaasi. She hasn’t been approached for any big ticket film barring Mahanati.

So, she would be hoping that the success of Mahanati catapults her star status into the top tier of actresses in South.

She has already grabbed the eyeballs with her uncanny resemblance to Savitri in the teasers and trailers. The expectations are so high on Keerthi Suresh’s character and screen presence. If she manages to come out with distinction with this character, no doubt it will be a game changer for her career in South.

Mahanati is set to hit the screens on May 9th worldwide.

Actor Rana Daggubati has praised actors Keerthy Suresh and Dulquer Salmaan for their upcoming film “Mahanati”.

Rana on Sunday took to Twitter to share a still from the film and captioned it: “You guys are just amazing Keerthy and Dulquer… Nagi my man good luck everything looks amazing. Looking forward ‘Mahanati’.”

Dulquer plays veteran star Gemini Ganesan in the Telugu-Tamil bilingual biopic “Mahanati”, which is based on the legendary southern actress Savitri.

Directed by Nag Ashwin, “Mahanati”, stars Keerthy as Savitri, apart from Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Mohan Babu and Vijay Devarakonda.

Rana is on board to star in the trilingual remake of late actor Rajesh Khanna’s 1971 film “Haathi Mere Saathi”.

It will be shot in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil with Rana in the lead. Inspired by true events, the remake will be helmed by Prabhu Solomon.

Young director Nag Ashwin took the responsibility to carve out the biopic of legendary actress Savitri which has been titled Mahanati. After couple years of hard work, the film started rolling last year and massive sets have been erected to reprise the 70s and 80s. Keerthy Suresh has been locked to reprise the legendary actress on screen and now the entire shoot of Mahanati has been wrapped up. The makers are keen on releasing the film during summer.

Samantha who is playing journalist Madhuravani wrapped up her part recently. Naga Chaitanya shot for couple of days this month and he is essaying the role of his grandfather ANR. The post-production work is going on and Mahanati has been announced for May 9th release. The film has a huge dose of VFX work and Mickey J Mayor is composing the music. Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema are the producers. Dulquer Salman, Prakash Raj, Vijay Devarakonda will be seen in other interesting roles in Mahanati.

Mahanati to release late Summer

Keerthy Suresh starrer Mahanati, a biopic on yesteryear actress Savitri, is one of the most eagerly awaited films this Summer. The shooting formalities are happening at a brisk pace and the makers have earlier announced that the film will hit the screens on March 29. But, there seems to be deferment in the release date.

As per the reports from the team, the film will involve a lot of CG work and the post production phase need considerable time to wrap up all activities with perfection. So, the makers have decided to give ample time for the technical team for CG work. It is now heard that they are now planning to release the film late in Summer.

They are yet to finalize the release date. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film is produced by Vyjayanthi Movies banner.
