Superstar lauds Vishal’s Abhimanyudu

Young actor Vishal’s Abhimanyudu has been declared as the biggest hit in his career. PVP – Mahesh Babu legal battle – The full backstory

It is well known that Superstar Mahesh Babu’s landmark film, which is currently on floors in Dehradun, has been facing a legal battle with producer PVP. Here is the full backstory of this issue.

Mahesh Babu initially committed to sign a three film deal for PVP after the debacle of Aagadu. The production house promised a hefty remuneration for Mahesh at that time. But, due to some reasons, the agreement was done for two films. The first film in their combination is Brahmotsavam. After the film tanked heavily at box office, Mahesh asked PVP to start working on next project with Vamshi Paidipalli and wanted to commence it immediately once the story is finalized.

PVP quickly started the pre production activities and spent nearly 3 Crores for story development. But, due to some differences with PVP, Vamshi Paidipalli approached Dil Raju and Aswini Dutt and officially announced the project leaving PVP in a blind spot.

Following this, PVP proceeded legally and filed a case with sealed cover script in Chennai high court. PVP got a stay on this project in November 2016. Vamshi Paidipalli and Dil Raju claimed that the story of their film is entirely different one and has not nexus with PVP’s film. But, PVP asserted that their claims doesn’t hold water as he has finalized character artists long back and Allari Naresh was roped in at that time itself.

As the tussle continued, Mahesh wrapped up Bharat Ane Nenu and was ready to start working on Vamshi Paidipalli’s project. This is when Namrata intervened and wanted to settle the issue with PVP. She met PVP at a mutual friend’s house and offered PVP a partnership in the project. She agreed to convice Dil Raju and make this into a joint production.

Meanwhile, Dil Raju and his team were hoping that the stay would be vacated and never wanted to meet PVP to settle the issue. The first hearing of the case was held on June 4th and the next hearing was held on June 11th. As Dil Raju’s lawyer didn’t attend due to personal reasons, the court moved the hearing to this 18th.

In the meantime, Dil Raju and team started shooting in Dehradun on this 17th, which is against the stay and contempt of the court. So, the judge is very serious on the team for defying the court’s orders.

PVP strongly believes that the decision will come in his favour. Sources close to PVP said his involvement in the project is a foregone conclusion. Additionally,he might take a commitment from Vamshi Paidipalli to do another project in future.

So, let’s hope the issue is settled amicably and the project proceeds smoothly.

Mahesh has been spotted in a new look in the picture. Vamshi Paidipally is directing this action entertainer and Pooja Hegde is the female lead. Allari Naresh will be seen essaying a pivotal role in this untitled film which will release during summer next year. Dil Raju and Vamshi Paidipally are the producers.

Devi Sri Prasad is the music composer and the film is going to be jointly bankrolled by Ashwini Dutt and Dil Raju.

I am flying to Dehradun next week to shoot for Mahesh Babu’s film.

We wrapped up the first schedule of ‘Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava ‘ recently. I am shooting with Tarak and he is simply amazing. It has been a complete joy on the sets. What can I say about Tarak when the whole world knows that he is a single take actor”.
 
I am on work mode and I am travelling, shooting in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Pune. I hardly find time to sleep and I am occupied till October. But, I am completely excited about the offered work and I haven’t met my parents in the recent times because of the busy schedules. What is the breakeven for Mahesh Babu Koratala Siva’s Bharat Ane Nenu? There are different versions of breakeven amounts circulated online. So we decided to use the time tested formula we typically use to evaluate overseas profits and loss. This share that we calculate typically matches well with the final amount distributor gets.

Bharat Ane Nenu overseas rights are bought by Great India films and US rights are valued around 13.6 Cr (including expenses). Rest of US rights were sold to different parties for Rs 4.5 Crs.

Expenses : $ 150k
Total : 2.044M

To calculate the approximate payout, we used the ratios for 1st week. Using a weighted ratio (assuming the final ratio will be in line with Week 1 ratios), the total payout comes to 60.2%.

Mass helmer Boyapati Srinu has been in talks with Superstar Mahesh Babu for a film but nothing has been confirmed. The ace director penned an interesting script which will be a multi-starrer and Nandamuri Balakrishna will play the other lead role. Superstar Mahesh has been given a hearing but the actor straightaway rejected the film.

Mahesh felt that Balakrishna would dominate him completely and Boyapati Srinu too could not convince Mahesh after which the project has been kept on hold. However Mahesh asked Boyapati to come out with a commercial script so that they can team up. Mahesh who has been riding high with the success of Bharat Ane Nenu has films lined up with Vamshi Paidipally, Sukumar, Trivikram and Sandeep Vanga.

The film has performed good over the weekend, dropped on Monday and Couldn’t hold enough over the following days which made it a decent first week overall.
