The duo has delivered two blockbuster hits in the form of Thuppaki and Kaththi. It is learnt that they are reuniting again for a intense action drama laced with a strong social elements.

The latest update reveals that the project will start rolling from mid December. Murugadoss will commence the pre production in the next month. Murugadoss and the core team members will get busy with the recce, music settings and other production activities in a couple of weeks, says a close source to the team.

Murugadoss is trying to create a new trend with this movie. In this bilingual, Mahesh Babu will play villain role in Tamil version where as Vijay will be hero. But in Telugu roles will be reversed i.e. Mahesh will be hero and Vijay will be villain in Telugu.

At this moment it seems too early to comment, whether this will be materialized or not. Superstar Mahesh Babu’s upcoming social drama SPYder is one of the highly anticipated films this season. Spyder Karnataka rights have been bagged by Goldie Films for 10.8 Cr. Mahesh Babu’s best till date in Area is Srimanthudu which has collected 7.1 Cr. Except Baahubali1 & Baahubali2 no film has collected over 10 Cr share. Chiranjeevi’s Khaidi No.150 has collected a little over 9cr and that’s the best leaving baahubali’s .

The film is slated for release on September 27th which is a week after Jal Lava Kusa. It will be interesting to see how many screens the distributor will be getting for full week as too many other language films are also releasing.

AR Murugadoss is one of the very few directors who can make pan-India films, meeting the sensibilities of both North and South audiences. Most of his films were remade in other languages, some were remade by Murugadoss himself.

His ‘Thuppaki’ starring Vijay was remade by himself in Hindi as ‘Holiday’ starring Akshay Kumar. His ‘Ghajini’ was also remade by himself with the same title in Hindi with Aamir Khan in lead role. His Tamil film ‘Ramana’ was remade in Telugu as Megastar’s ‘Tagore’ and in Hindi as Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gabbar’.

Will there be any need for so many remakes if Murugadoss makes a film with a pan-India actor who is equally popular in South and North? Actually, NO. The director has sizable national market and if he teams up with a hero having pan-India appeal, the craze for the project will be inexplicable. But, the problem for Murugadoss has been, finding such hero. Well, the newly attained pan-India stardom of Prabhas can end Murugadoss’ predicament.

As per our sources, Murugadoss has a story idea for Prabhas and he is hopeful of making it into a multilingual film with the Baahubali star in lead. Knowing the film making prowess of Murugadoss, Prabhas may not lose an opportunity to work with him. The duo however haven’t yet discussed the story since they are busy with their respective commitments. Prabhas has Saaho and Radha Krishna’s love story in pipeline. Murugadoss will direct Vijay in his next project.

Wouldn’t it be awesome if the duo teams up after the aforementioned projects? If materializes, the combo project of Murugadoss and Prabhas has the potential to challenge the biggest action films India has ever produced.

With just over a month left for the theatrical release of Superstar Mahesh Babu’s ‘SPYder’, makers are busy with the post-production work as well as formulating the promotional activities.

The latest update is that Mahesh Babu commenced dubbing for SPYder yesterday. He himself is dubbing for the Tamil version as well. All Arrangements have been done for the unit to left for Romania on 25th of this month to shoot the only pending romantic song on Mahesh and Rakul Preet Singh.

The Tamil audio launch event of SPYder is being planned to be held on a grand scale in Chennai on September 9. This function is also being projected as a platform to officially introduce Mahesh to Tamil audiences. Earlier, rumors emerged that Superstar Rajinikanth will attend the event as the chief guest but our reliable sources quashed these reports. In fact, Rajini was never approached by makers of SPYder. Sensational director Shankar is likely to attend as the chief guest of the event.

It may be recalled that Shankar had earlier attended as the chief guest for the Telugu audio launch event of Mahesh Babu’s ‘Aagadu’ in 2014. Hope the bad omen doesn’t repeat for SPYder, which is on track for a worldwide release on September 27.

“‘Spyder’ USA Rights Acquired by ATMUS & AZ India”

Dallas, TX (August 10, 2017) – ATMUS Entertainment in association with AZ India Media have acquired the USA rights of ‘Spyder’, one of the most awaited and prestigious movies of the year.

The recently released teaser and first single have turned out to be a smashing hit. The teaser is the biggest HIT in South Indian history, owing to its 6.3 million online views on June 1st within the first 24 hours.

SPYder, a spy-thriller directed by AR Murugadoss, features the super star Mahesh in the role of Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer and he has apparently performed the most difficult stunts sans body double. The film will be edge of the seat thriller, emotional drama, high on action, and touted to be the most stylish film in Mahesh’s carrier.

Santosh Sivan who is the 5 times national award winner, handles the cinematography, said in an interview that he chooses the film based on story line and team that he is most comfortable with.

SPYder post production happening in different countries

Superstar Mahesh Babu’s bilingual spy thriller SPYder is one of the highly awaited tent-pole films this year. After missing out on Summer release, the makers are keen on bringing it for Dussehra. The shooting formalities have been wrapped up barring a couple of songs. On the other side, the post production activities are in full swing.

Speaking to DC about the progress of the film, producer Tagore Madhu revealed that the graphics work is currently happening in different countries like Russia, Iran and UK. Special technical teams have been roped in to work for the film and a team based out in Iran which worked for Magadheera is also overseeing the graphics work of SPYder.

Earlier, the teaser work of the film was done in UK. It was evident from the teaser that the film will be high on technical values and makers seem to be going all out in making it a visual treat for audience.
