While RGV’s announcement regarding the film on legendary actor and politician NTR is trending as hot topic in industry circles, Nandamuri Balakrishna has formally confirmed that director Teja will wield the megaphone for the biopic on NTR which will be produced by his soon to be established production house, Brahma Teja Productions.

Telugu360 has learnt some exclusive details about this project. Here are the details :

The biopic will be co-produced by Vishnu Induri and Sai Korrapati. Balakrishna has roped in music maestro MM Keeravani to render the soundtrack for this highly anticipated biopic. Also, it is heard that Teja will get a remuneration of three Crores. Balakrishna will take no remuneration as he is one of the producers.

Sources revealed that Balakrishna is taking this project very prestigiously and wants to pump high budget into it.

Nandamuri Balakrishna announced that he will be reprising the role of his father and legendary actor NTR in his biopic. Within no time, Ram Gopal Varma stepped out with an announcement. Balayya seems not to be much bothered and he stayed tight-lipped about the biopic. Ram Gopal Varma even released the first poster and titled the movie Lakshmi’s NTR. YSRCP Leader Srikanth Reddy will bankroll the project revealed the maverick director.

Today he announced a special press meet to reveal about the details of the movie. The regular shoot of Lakshmi’s NTR will start from February next year and the film will discuss about some important aspects of NTR’s life. The movie will hit the screens during October next year and the cast, crew are being finalized. He compared NTR’s life to Mahabharatha and he picked up important aspects that took place in his life. RGV along with Srikanth Reddy arranged a special meet in Palamaneru, Chitoor. We have to wait and see how Balakrishna responds on Lakshmi’s NTR.

It’s known news that Nandamuri Bala Krishna is planning to make a movie on legendary NTR’s biopic. Though the name of the director hasn’t been officially announced yet, there have been rumors that mega phone might be given to RGV or Puri or Deva Katta. Also there were rumors that Deva Katta of Prasthanam fame was associated with script development process of this movie. Later director Ram Gopal Varma announced that he will be doing a movie based on NTR’s biopic. But there was some confusion as hero Bala Krishna never confirmed the name of director for this movie. Also, NTR fans worried about RGV wielding megaphone, thanks to his recent track record.

However, today RGV shocked everyone with his facebook post. He announced that his movie based on NTR’s biopic will be titled as Lakshmi’s NTR and this movie will be narrated from the perspective of Lakshmi Parvathi. He also announced that movie will have the episodes related to viceroy hotel, NTR being back stabbed by his son-in-law Chandra Babu.

But Lakshmi Parvathi confirmed that she was not been approached by RGV yet. But she told she will welcome the movie if she likes the script. There are also some doubts among the people that Bala Krishna might have refused to give opportunity to RGV for his movie and that’s why RGV is trying to blackmail the makers of NTR biopic by announcing counter movie for this biopic from Lakshmi Parvathi’s perspective. Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna has not finalised a director for the yet-untitled Telugu biopic on his father and legendary actor Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, fondly known as NTR.

“It’s a very prestigious project for my family and even for the Telugu audiences. We don’t want to rush things just for the sake of it.

“We are yet to zero-in on the director and the process will take time. We should go on the floors next year,” Balakrishna told IANS.

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma had earlier announced that he would direct a biopic on NTR.

In July, in an audio note, Varma said: “NTR is a name to reckon with every Telugu-speaking individual. He was not just a great actor but a leader with unprecedented following. I’m very proud to direct a film on his life.”

Elaborating on why he is proud to direct the project, Varma said: “My personal relationship with him goes back to the year when his blockbuster film ‘Adavi Ramudu’ had released. I didn’t have money to take the bus to the movie hall. I walked 10 km each time and watched the film 23 times.”

Varma also confirmed actor Balakrishna will star in his film.

How Varma was Finalized to Direct NTR’s Biopic?

A project in the combination of Ram Gopal Varma and Balakrishna Nandamuri was least expected until an official announcement was made the other day. Telugu film lovers and Nandamuri fans may be wondering how come Balayya finalized Varma for the highly prestigious ‘NTR’s Biopic’ despite having a clear idea of the maverick director’s recent track record. Well, the decision wasn’t made in a day.

Our reliable sources have informed that Varma has been in talks with Balayya for three months to helm NTR’s biopic. The duo have been frequently meeting since the past three months and discussing this sensational project, which can create innumerable controversies if not dealt with carefully.

In fact, Balayya has been in possession of the bound script of NTR’s biopic for a long time. Actor-cum-politician Murali Mohan’s son-in-law Vishnu Induri has been longing to enter film industry with the biopic of NTR. For that, he has prepared a script by assembling the exciting and intricate parts of NTR’s life after a thorough research. He took the help of director Deva Katta in penning this script. He even made efforts to make this film in the direction of Deva Katta, but the proposal was dropped feeling that the director was not a big brand enough to direct NTR’s biopic.

At one point, Balayya seriously contemplated on directing this project. However, he finally decided not to take any risk and rope in an experienced director instead. After several senior as well as established directors refrained from touching NTR’s life story, fearing backlash from certain sections, the fearless Varma was finally approached.

It is heard that Puri Jagannath, a devoted disciple of Varma, played a crucial role in the process of NTR’s biopic landing in his Guru’s lap. It is known that Puri is currently directing Balayya in ‘Paisa Vasool’. The senior actor used to have meetings with Varma on the sets of Puri’s film only.

With a controversial director like Varma on board to film the ‘Complex’ life story of NTR, we need to see how much sensation the biopic creates.

NTR Biopic : Five writers working in tandem

A couple of months ago, Nandamuri Balakrishna announced that he will be reprising the role of his father and legendary actor NTR in his biopic. Reportedly, a top production house and a star filmmaker are in talks to helm this prestigious project.

According to the latest update, it is learnt that Balakrishna has roped in five writers to complete the script work for this much awaited biopic. Contrary to the ongoing reports that the biopic might create ripples in both political and film circles, sources say that it will be an inspiring story of a farmer’s son who rise to stardom and becomes a Chief Minister at the end.

Also, the film is said to feature the hard fought journey of the legendary actor in turning into a superstar and ruling the roost for more than three decades in Tollywood.

The script work is currently underway in Hyderabad and the writers ( whose names are closely guarded) are working in tandem to shape up a perfect draft for the movie to go on floors.

Lakshmi Parvathi questions Chandrababu’s role in Balayya’s biopic on NTR

The announcement of Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna to make biopic of his father and legendary actor N T Rama Rao seems to be landing in politically controversy. Already questions started arising on the projected role of the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in this film.

Welcoming the decision and also appreciating Balakrishna for taking such bold initiative, NTR’s second wife Lakshmi Parvathi, with whom the relationship of NTR children are strained, raised the question of Chandrababu Naidu’s projection in this film.

Speaking at a TV Channel’s news programme, she warned today that if any effort is made to project Chandrababu Naidu as a `hero’ in the film she would approach the court. Asserting that Chandrababu Naidu was a Villon in N T Rama Rao’s life and also responsible for his untimely death, she claimed that she is having several proofs in this regard, including video voices of late NTR.

Now it would be interesting to note how Balakrishna makes his film with regard to relationship between his father and brother-in-law, who had allegedly `hijacked’ TDP and power from him. Lakshmi Parvathi said if Balakrishna tries to show some sympathy towards his brother-in-law and makes try to show him as a `hero’, she will not allow the film to come out.

However, her claims were strongly condemned by TDP’s `fire brand’ legislator from Vijayawada Bonda Umamaheswara Rao. Countering her arguments in the same news channel, in her presence, he alleged that everyone knowns `Lakshmi Parvathi as the real villon in the life of NTR’. He accused that her arrival only brought disrepute to NTR and makes his life miserable.

Anyhow, Balakrishan, who is basking on the glory of his 100th film “Gautamiputra Satakarni”, is now determined to bring the biopic on his father as his 101th film. He announced that he would be playing the role of his father in the movie and it will cover all aspects of his life. He also said script work for the film was started already. As per reports three writers have been endorsed the task of script work.
