Actress Rakul Preet feels it is very important for everyone to go through ups and downs, and says failure teaches more than success.

“In life, failure teaches more than success because if you don’t have failures you will never value success and never understand how it is to taste success,” Rakul told IANS.

“It is very important for everyone to go through ups and downs because only then you will take your job seriously, be thankful for everything you have and like we have grown up hearing ‘Failures are pillars of success’… Without failure there isn’t any excitement about the success that you get,” she added.

Rakul has featured in Telugu and Hindi films. In Bollywood, she has done “Yaariyan” and “Aiyaary” — both the movies turned out to be duds at the box office.

The actress has also launched her app in collaboration with New York-based firm EscapeX. Rakul Preet Singh Official App will feature fan feed which will enable the fans to post in the app along with other features.

Talking about the app, she said: “The app’s idea was given to me by the main company, Escapex and when they bought it to my notice and the whole concept. I was first a little hesitant, to be honest.

“I thought wouldn’t it be too self-obsessed to have an app of your own but when I understood the features I thought it was great platform to be able to connect with the fans and I always believe that they are the ones who make you and we really need to be in touch with in some way.”

Like many heroines of Tollywood, the trend of going to Bollywood was graced by the slender beauty Rakul Preet Singh as well. She had the fortune of getting Yaarian in early stages of her career itself but she could not make a significant mark with her presence in Hindi.

In the mean time, Rakul was flocked with opportunities in Telugu and down the south. After covering all the top heroes in Telugu, she got a chance again in Hindi with Simla Mirchi starring Rajkumar Rao and Hema Malini. But unfortunately the film couldn’t see the light of release.
After careful scrutiny, she took up Aiyyary which had Siddarth Malhotra in the lead role. The film released this Friday and garnered flop talk. Actually, this film was supposed to be releasing on January 26th but with clash of Padmaavat release, the date was pushed to Feb 9th.

Unfortunately, this day also clashed with another big release Padman and finally saw the release today. The actress religiously toured for the promotional events hoping for a tremendous success but alas, the film disappointed her.

Does this mean Rakul is haunted by bad luck! We never know because she has another Hindi film opposite Action hero Ajay Devgn on cards already!

Leggy lass Rakul Preet Singh has no offers in Tollywood. Her last film SPYder tanked heavily at the box office leaving her in a state of despair as she pinned a lot of hopes on the film to catapult her career in Tollywood.

In fact, 2017 was a forgettable year for the Dhruva actress. She couldn’t bag a decent hit in the entire year despite acting in four films. Winner, Jaya Janaki Nayaka and SPYder ended as miserable flops. As Bramarambha, she managed a substantial role in Ra Randoi Veduka Choodam. But, she couldn’t find a way in Tollywood thereafter.

Rakul hasn’t been offered a role in Tollywood after SPYder. She acted in a Bollywood film and signed a biggie opposite Suriya in the meantime, but couldn’t really get the attention of Telugu filmmakers.

With the export of new faces in Tollywood from other industries, filmmakers are not interested to cast Rakul Preet in big ticket films. It looks like the end is very near for Rakul Preet here.

Tollywood top actress Rakul Preet Singh has been on a break and hasn’t signed any Telugu film recently. The actress lost huge weight and turned stunning during her break. Rakul has been spotted ravishing in a white bikini for the cover page of leading magazine Maxim. Rakul looked ultra stylish and this is the hottest outing of Rakul till date. Rakul will soon join the sets of Suriya’s next in the direction of Selva Raghavan.

Actress Rakul Preet Singh, who was a contestant at the Miss India pageant back in 2011, is set to be a mentor for the pageant this time. She says she is glad to come full circle and help the aspirants in their journey.

Rakul Preet, whose next Bollywood outing is the forthcoming movie “Aiyaary”, is the south zone mentor for the fbb Colors Femina Miss India 2018. Pooja Hegde is the west zone mentor, Pooja Chopra is east zone mentor and Neha Dhupia will take care of the north zone.

“It’s great to be back in this form where I can bring in something from my side for the contestants. It’s like a circle you complete. It has still not settled in my head that it has been so many years… 2011, and it has been seven years already,” Rakul said in a promotional video.

“Now I am back as a mentor, but I am really looking forward to the journey and hoping to bring in the best from my end for everyone,” she added.

Last year, Haryana girl Manushi Chhillar brought the Miss World crown back to India after 17 years.

For the 55th edition of the Miss India pageant, the auditions will begin next month in 30 states. The mentors will select one ambassador who will represent their state at the national finals.

Rakul says participating in the competition was life-changing for her.

“I was very naive. I was like a kid. This was the first pageant I attended. I think it helped me prepare for the world outside. When you start working, and start working in films, you meet so many new people, so it’s a great platform for the exposure that you need at that age, and well, ever since life has been great,” she said.

With a busy career in the southern and Hindi film industries, Rakul says “Miss India was my stepping platform”.

Her advice for contestants?

“There’s only one thing takes you places, and that’s your belief in yourself and a lot of confidence. Don’t get bogged down… You have to understand that there’s only going to be one winner. And I didn’t win during my time. Still, that’s not the end. Just keep going, believe in yourself and winning and losing is a part of life.”

All finalists of fbb Colors Femina Miss India 2018 will undergo rigorous training and grooming sessions from the best experts in the industry before the grand finale in June.

Actress Rakul Preet Singh says she speaks Telugu better than her mother tongue Punjabi and she would like to speak her own Telugu lines in films.

“The one thing I’d really like to do in 2018 is to speak my own lines on Telugu. Do you know I’m so fluent in Telugu now, I speak the language better than I speak Punjabi. So far I’ve only dubbed my own lines for one Telugu film,” Rakul said.

But she doesn’t want to talk about “Spyder”, which was shot in Telugu and Tamil simultaneously.

“I don’t want to speak about ‘Spyder’. Not because I am embarrassed about its under-performance. But it’s just not an experience I enjoyed. I did it for the pleasure of working with A.R. Murugadoss Sir, and I’d do it again any time. But Sorry I really don’t want to say anything more about this,” she said.

Is Rakul disappointed by the male-dominated scripts in south Indian languages?

“Not the least. They aren’t all about the men. In fact, my other 2017 release ‘Jaya Janaki Nayaka’ (Telugu film) featured me in a pivotal role,” she said.

Telugu cinema remains Rakul’s first love.

“It’s where I’ve discovered my love for the camera. Trust me, I enjoy being in front of the camera more than anything else in the world. I can spend as much as 12 hours on the sets, even more. It’s the only passion that I have,” she said.

Rakul Preet signs her Next

Tollywood sensation Rakul Preet Singh shot fame in short time and was occupied with back to back films. Her commitments did not allow her to take any breaks. After wrapping up her films, Rakul is currently on a break from the past couple of months. She has been busy listening to scripts and she signed couple of interesting Tamil projects after the super success of Karthi’s Khakee. However she is yet to sign her next Tollywood movie.

The latest news we hear is that Rakul is currently in talks for one among the female leads in Harish Shankar’s next film which is a multi-starrer. Young actors Sharwanand and Nithiin have already been approached for the lead roles and Sai Pallavi is the other female lead in talks. Rakul is yet to reveal her decision about the film and Daagudu Moothalu is the title considered for this interesting project. The regular shoot will commence from March 2018 and Dil Raju is the producer.
