    Successful director Maruthi is coming up with a family entertainer titled as Shailaja Reddy Alludu. Veteran artist Ramya Krishna is playing a pivotal role as Chaitu’s mother-in-law in this film.

    The title and the glimpses of the film suggested that Maruthi is going to offer a wholesome treat for family audience with good drama weaved around the ‘Attha – Alludu’ theme bringing back the 90s time-tested formula. However, it is learnt that the film will have good dose of commercial elements like action episodes and mass dialogues.

    Previously, Maruthi churned out full length comedy capers and didn’t explore the mass side of his protagonists. But, this time, he has decided to cater his film for all sections of audience. So, he gave a mass touch to the script and Chaitu will be seen rolling his sleeves in a couple of high octane episodes.

    Shailaja Reddy Alludu is releasing on August 31st.

    Young director Maruthi proved his mettle and most of his directorials ended up as money spinners. But things are completely different when it comes to his films as a writer. He penned scripts and produced almost a dozen films out of which Prema Katha Chitram is the only film that impressed the audience. Maruthi has been badly criticized for his work after his recent outings ended up as disasters. Maruthi charged Rs 1 crore for penning the story, screenplay and dialogues for Brand Babu which released yesterday.

    The film received poor response and Maruthi’s efforts have been criticized. He has been charging Rs 50 lakhs to Rs 1 crore per film for penning the script, but Maruthi’s directorial commitments aren’t allowing him to spend ample time on developing these scripts. His market is currently in stake with back to back debacles. Maruthi pinned many hopes on his next directorial Shailaja Reddy Alludu. If this film fails to recover the investments, Maruthi will have to prove his mettle once again with a small film to be back in race.

    It’s high time for this promising director to restrict himself working on limited projects instead of signing all the approached films.

Director Maruthi , who is known for penning quirky characterizations for the male protagonists in his films, has now come up with an ‘egoist’ character for the female lead in this breezy outing.

    The scene in which Anu Emanuel persuades Chaitu to propose her makes it clear that she is playing a girl who is full of ego. Chay looks elegant and is at his stylish best. The tempo of the teaser changes with the brief glance of Ramya Krishna’s character and the thumping bgm hints that she is playing a powerful role.

    The music score by Gopi Sundar is apt for the visuals and the cinematography is appealing.

    LA Telugu, one of the leading distribution houses in overseas, has reportedly sealed a three film marquee deal with producer Chinna Babu of Haarika and Hassine Creations.

    It is well known that Chinna Babu is producing NTR’s Aravindha Sametha, Naga Chaitanya’s Shailaja Reddy Alludu and untitled Sharwanand – Sudheer Varma film under his two Production houses. The latest reports suggest that the overseas rights of all these three films have been bagged by LA Telugu for a handsome price.

    As reported earlier by Telugu 360, the rights of Aravindha Sametha were snapped for nearly 14.4 Crores on credit basis.

    There were also reports that the overseas rights of Shailaja Reddy Alludu were sold to Idream Vasu. But, the latest development is that LA Telugu has bagged the rights of all three films and the agreement has been done.

    Sources revealed that LA Telugu paid 3.2 Crores for Shailaja Reddy Alludu and the business for Sharwanand’s film is not yet finalized.

    LA Telugu is known for its aggressive marketing strategies as they previously released Pawan’s Agnyathavaasi on a massive scale in overseas. So, it can be expected that all three films will have a wider release in overseas with strong publicity campaign.

    Telugu360 has exclusively learnt that the producer of Shailaja Reddy Alludu has closed a solid deal recently. As per the trade reports, the rest of India theatrical rights, Overseas rights and digital rights of this family entertainer have jointly fetched 14 Crores for the producer.

    Noted distribution house Idream Media has bagged these rights. After Amazon Prime has aggressively ventured into digital marketing, local players are finding it difficult to bag the digital and YouTube rights. So, Idream Media has offered a fancy price to seal the deal which includes digital rights as well.
