Tapsee Vs Netizens: Satire on Sandeep Vanga backfired

0

It’s Tapsee Vs Netizens in social media last 2 days. Tapsee’s supposed Satire on Arjun Reddy director Sandeep Vanga backfired on her and Netizens slammed her saying her tweets are very insensitive. Tapsee also criticized Netizens and told that tweet is not for people with no sense of sarcasm. The tweet war continues. Details as below.

Tapsee’s satire on Sandeep vanga:

It all started with a news story by an English channel. As per the news story, a 19-year-old aspiring model was killed allegedly by her boyfriend on suspicion of her “character”. The incident happened in Maharashtra’s Nagpur district. The man was arrested by police. Tapsee tweeted this news article and made a satirical tweet on Sandeep vanga indirectly. She tweeted, “Or maybe let’s just say they were madly in love with each other n this ‘act’ was to validate his TRUE love for her. ” It is known news that, recently Sandeep Vanga said in an interview with Anupama chopra that “When you are deeply in love and deeply connected to a woman (and vice versa), if you don’t have the liberty of slapping each other, then I don’t see any love there and these women critics whoever are talking this Kabir Singh were never in love”. Already Actress Kubbra Sait, dubbing artist Chinmayi and actress Samantha reacted on those comments and found fault with Sandeep Vanga’s statement.

Tapsee slammed netizens:

Tapsee also stood by her words and retweeted, “Statutory warning: people with no sense of sarcasm kindly ignore me n my tweet. Thank you , it was nice not knowing you. I hope whoever “schooled” me went to a school where they teach the difference between ‘sarcasm’ and ‘sarcastic humour’. “

Overall:

Overall it looks like, Tapsee’s intention was indeed a sarcastic satire on Sandeep Vanga’s alleged misogynist statements, the incident that she chose to poke at Sandeep Vanga was a very sensitive one and slightest unbalance in handling it will attract the wrath of people and in fact that’s what was happened.

Was just a matter of time: Taapsee on thriving regional cinema

3

She’s dabbled in both Hindi and southern cinema since her debut with the Telugu film “Jhummandi Naadam” in 2010 — and her Tamil debut “Aadukalam” won six National Film Awards at the 58th National Film Awards.

This year, her film “The Ghazi Attack” won the Best Telugu film at the 65th National Film Awards, with the chairperson of jury Shekhar Kapur hailing regional cinema over Hindi. And actress Taapsee Pannu says it was just a matter of time before people realised the capability of regional cinema.

“I think it’s only now that people (in north India) are waking up to the fact that regional cinema is quite capable of giving Hindi cinema a run for its money. But, honestly, having worked there for some years now… I will say that it (regional cinema) was always there,” Taapsee, who has also been a part of thought-provoking films like “Baby” and “Pink”, told IANS on the phone from Mumbai.

“It was just a matter of time before people realised, recognised and opened their eyes to it. I remember when I debuted in regional cinema, my first Tamil film release won six national awards. I don’t know how many films have that kind of a record. That happened in 2011,” she added.

Taapsee believes one of the reasons that regional cinema is now receiving attention is its availability on different platforms, giving it more visibility.

“People in north India can now use different platforms to see southern cinema… subtitles being easily available. They can now see them, which was not the case before; otherwise it was always there and it was just a matter of time,” the 32-year-old actress said.

With upcoming films “Mulk”, “Soorma” and “Manmarziyan”, all belonging to different genres, in her kitty, Taapsee says that while “Soorma” gave her the opportunity to portray a sportsperson, something she always wanted to do, “Manmarziyan” has fulfilled her dream of being a part of a “hardcore romantic film”.

“I have been waiting to do a love story since the beginning of my career. Because the amount of emotion and because of the drama that is involved in the film… I think I have made up for so many years of not being part of a hardcore love story,” she said.

And since she was so looking forward to doing a love story, “I think I was the most comfortable… it was quite easy for me to go through ‘Manmarziyan’ because I was just so much waiting for it for so many years. This was the most easy-breezy of the lot actually,” she added.

What kind of films and characters have massaged her ego the most?

Taapsee says it’s the audience reaction that matters.

“If you do a film where the audience comes out of the theatre and just cannot forget your character… a character which doesn’t leave the audience very easily. And it has happened with me a couple of films. How amazing you feel when people say you would not leave their minds after they walked out of the theatre,” she said.

“There are films where we laugh and walk out of a theatre with a smile on your face; but how many times do you take a character back home? Very rarely. So those are the times an actor’s ego is really massaged,” she added.

“It’s such an amazing feeling to be roped in by a brand for which you have been a consumer since years. The quality, reach and range of their products is so wide that it’s an honour to be chosen as their brand ambassador,” Taapsee said in a statement.

The “Naam Shabana” actress was found to be the “perfect ambassador” due to her youth icon status.

On the acting front, Taapsee is busy with “Manmarziyan”. The film is directed by Anurag Kashyap. It also stars Abhishek Bachchan and Vicky Kaushal.

Don’t want to closet myself in one type of role: Taapsee

0

From portraying strong characters in films like “Pink” and “Naam Shabana” to doing glamorous roles in “Judwaa 2”, Taapsee Pannu has a diverse career graph and she would like to maintain that in future.

Asked if she will do more glamorous roles like her charachter in “Judwaa 2”, Taapsee told IANS: “I want to maintain that. I am an actor and versatility is the part of being an actor. I wouldn’t want to closet myself in one type of role.”

On the opening day of Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) Spring/Summer 2018 here, the actress walked the runway in a glamorous free flowy gown for brand “Label by Ritu Kumar”.

She enjoyed every bit of her walk.

“I am an actor walking on the runway and not a model. I will be extremely bad if I walk as a model as I can’t keep a straight face. I love to enjoy what I am doing and that’s what I was doing,” said Taapsee who can’t wait for her next film “Dil Junglee” to release.

Label Ritu Kumar’s “Hip Hop Baroque” collection was presented with a lot of vim and vigour. There were colours and prints mixed in vibrant hues and patterns and there were 90s DIY punk directions that will appeal to the young swinging dressers.

New Age textiles added to the style quotient of the collection as shimmer jersey, Lurex, georgette, handloom and splashes of sequin added to the multi fabric/hued nature of the ensembles.

Buyers will be encouraged to grab the printed drop waist dresses, make an entrance in glitzy, electric, blue, maxi or go for multi-striped skirts.

Opening the show with a navy, shimmering, pleated, midi, the op-art story in multi-colours continued throughout the collection. Metallic Tees and matching flared mini, micro pleated asymmetric maxi, the sari inspired gown and micro mini silver sequinned skirt glittered on the ramp.

The printed velvet line comprised capris, blousons and a very stately power packed pantsuit, while the black net creations with multi-hued motifs cascading down the front were eye catchers.

About her love for the brand, Taapsee says that their association started during her college days in Delhi.

“During my college days in Delhi, there were only a handful of designers and most of them ended up being too heavy on your pocket. This was one brand that was very savvy in terms of affordability, so I ended up saving a lot of my pocket money and the first ever designer piece that I got was of this brand. It’s a sense of accomplishment that I am walking for this brand now,” said the actress.

However she says she doesn’t have to check price tags anymore.

“Thankfully I don’t have to check price points anymore. If I like something, I buy it,” she said.

So how will she define fashion?

“I think when you own your style, it becomes fashion. Fashion is not something that overpowers your personality. I think it should gel with your personality so well that your personality shines out of it,” she said.

Taapsee trolled for wearing short dress, replies strongly

0

Actress Taapsee Pannu, a keen supporter of women’s empowerment, on Saturday poked fun at a few social media users who trolled her online for wearing a short dress.

Taapsee shared a photograph of herself on Twitter in which she can be seen wearing a black-and-white strapless one piece dress with minimal make-up.

“Sometimes the best moments stay untouched, unedited and unused. Raw image. Screen grab,” she wrote alongside the image.

The photograph was not appreciated by a few of her followers, who later started trolling her. However, Taapsee didn’t hold back and replied to them strongly.

“Due to such stuff male’s attract to seduce girl. And harassment,” one user wrote.

Taapsee then replied to the following user: “Then those ‘male’s’ need to do something about their sickness, it’s not about ‘such stuff’. By the way — get well soon.”

Another user tried to take a jibe at Taapsee’s post and asked her whether she doesn’t have money to buy clothes or she likes doing skin show?

On that, Taapsee wrote: “We are not finding protectors of the culture. I did this to find you, otherwise wouldn’t have found a diamond like you. (Aap jaise culture ke rakshak nahi mil rahe sir ji. Identify karne ke liye aisa karna padha varna aap jaise heere kahan asaani se milte hai.)”

This didn’t stop here, as another user said that Taapsee’s photograph is not good for Indian culture.

Taapsee’s comments were later praised by her “Judwaa 2” co-star Varun Dhawan.

Varun tweeted: “Superb Taapsee.”

Important to disconnect with madness of our work: Taapsee

0

Actress Taapsee Pannu, after months of film shootings and promotions, has undertaken a vacation. She says the breaks are important for refreshing oneself.

The year 2017 has been a hectic year for Taapsee, who has had four releases — “Running Shaadi”, “Naam Shabana”, “Anando Brahmo” and “Judwaa 2”.

She gifted herself a quiet vacation.

“I flew to Stockholm. Just so that I could unwind after the crazy weeks I have had lately with the release and preparation for my next film. It’s quite cold at this time of the year in Scandinavia so the idea is not really to walk around and see places but just to relax in the city centre and enjoy different cuisines and have the me time,” Taapsee said in a statement.

“Vacations are a very important part of my life as they help me to get to reality. I feel it’s extremely important to disconnect with the madness of our work to come back with refreshed energy and that’s exactly why I make sure I take a holiday before I start a new film. It helps me align my energies better,” she added.

Taapsee happy over success of ‘Anando Brahma’

Actress Taapsee Pannu is happy for the success of her last Telugu outing “Anando Brahma”, which has completed a 50-day run in theatres and has been declared a hit.

“Anando Brahma” is a refreshing horror-comedy where the ghosts are afraid of humans.

Taapsee had signed the film on a profit-sharing basis.

“I am today in a position where I have been saying that I don’t want to repeat things and want to do something different. And if this is a chance for me to do something different, I can’t step back just because I won’t get paid that much,” Taapsee had told IANS.

Taapsee signed ‘Anando Brahma’ on profit-sharing basis

0

Actress Taapsee Pannu worked on her latest Telugu outing “Anando Brahma” free of cost and instead struck a profit-sharing deal with its makers — something very unlikely in the southern film industry.

When Taapsee heard the script and found that there was no scope for a leading hero in the film which is the major force for the film’s budget and feasibility, she decided that she did not want to burden the film with her remuneration.

She genuinely believed in the script.

“I am today in a position where I have been saying that I don’t want to repeat things and want to do something different. And if this is a chance for me to do something different, I can’t step back just because I won’t get paid that much,” Taapsee told IANS.

“I genuinely believed in the script and so thought to take this risk which is a biggest gamble of my career,” she said.

Taapsee’s gamble paid off quite handsomely. Made on a shoestring budget, the film ended up as a sleeper hit in India and US.

Directed by Mahi Raghav, “Anando Brahma” is a horror-comedy where the ghosts are afraid of humans.
