    Actor Vijay Devarakonda’s long delayed film Taxiwala is finally going to see the light of the day. After getting postponed several times and amidst rumours that the film will be directly out through digital platforms, the makers have announced November 16th as the release date.

    Taxiwala is a science fiction thriller directed by Rahul Sankrityan and produced by UV Creations and Geetha Arts 2. The film was supposed to release in mid Summer, but was postponed due to several technical issues. Later, some raw footages of the film got leaked in YouTube. This has led to rumours that the film will be directly out in a popular digital platform.

    Priyanka Jawalkar and Malavika Nair are the female leads in this film.

    Vijay Devarakonda is riding high on the success of his recent outing Geetha Govindam. Though it was Taxiwaala which has been scheduled for release first, the delay in the post-production work pushed the release date ahead. With Geetha Govindam emerging as a massive hit, all the next films of Vijay Deverakonda are expected to open with a bang. However here comes a shocking news as Vijay Deverakonda will have one more release before Taxiwaala as the film’s release has been pushed once again due to the delay in the VFX work.

    With lot of speculations about the film’s content and re-shoots, Taxiwaala lacked buzz. The director Rahul Sankrityan clarified that no re-shoots have been done for the film and it is due to the delay in the VFX work, the film got delayed. In this while, NOTA is all set to take the advantage of Vijay Deverakonda’s winning streat. The film directed by Anand Shankar is gearing up for Christmas release this year in Telugu and Tamil languages.

    On the whole NOTA is all set to take the advantage of Geetha Govindam and we have to wait to see if Taxiwaala manages to release right after NOTA before it turns out to be a stale product or if it loses the entire buzz by the time it hits the screens.

    With Geetha Arts’ ‘Geetha Govindam’ (GG) promotions kicking off recently, one wondered what happened to another Vijay Deverakonda-starrer ‘Taxiwaala’—a venture of the same production house (in association with UV Creations) which was supposed to hit cinema halls sometime back in May. Turns out, ‘Taxiwaala’s CG had something to do with it.

    “The first set of computer graphics failed to meet the expectations of both the production houses and film’s director Rahul Sankrityan and so they’ve changed the studio, increased the budget and handed over the works to other studios—a couple in Chennai and three in Hyderabad. The film has 600 computer graphics shots and the makers are in no mood to compromise on the quality,” confirmed a source close to the unit and added that post-production works too are in full-swing in Chennai.

    “With CG, you can’t allot a specific time unlike other post-production formalities. Once Geetha Arts and UV Creations get the final set, they’ll check the film and decide upon the release. As things stand now, ‘Geetha Govindam’ might take precedence in terms of release,” the source added.

    Priyanka Jawalkar and Malavika Nair are cast opposite Vijay Deverakonda in ‘Taxiwaala’, a thriller peppered with humour.

    Arjun Reddy fame Vijay Devarakonda is ready with his new film Taxiwaala, a science fiction thriller based on true events.

    Ahead of its release this May, the makers have unveiled a 5 minute promotional video ‘ The Dream behind Taxiwaala’ today morning.

    The promo is a fun-filled video featuring a bunch of frisky kids who hound Vijay Devarakonda with a series of playful tasks as they missed out on watching his cult classic Arjun Reddy because it was labelled as an adult movie.

    The promo is shot by recreating some of the popular scenes from Arjun Reddy as Vijay is seen reprising his mannerisms on a lighter note. Cut to the chase, he sheds his bold Arjun Reddy makeover and takes the kids on a fun ride.

    The idea of this promo is to promote that Taxiwaala is a film that cuts across all age groups and can be watched with families.

    Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, the film has Malavika Nair as the female lead. GA2 and UV Creations have jointly bankrolled the film.

    Young and promising actor Vijay Devarakonda who surprised the audience with his mind boggling performance in Arjun Reddy is all set with his next release Taxiwaala which is hitting the screens this summer. Rahul Sankrityan is making his directorial debut with this interesting thriller. The teaser of Taxiwaala has been released today which reveals that Taxiwaala is based on a new concept that has been untouched in Tollywood till date.

    Laced with the theme of supernatural elements, Taxiwaala teaser looks thrilling and interesting. Vijay Devarakonda plays a cab driver in this concept based thriller and Priyanka Jawalkar, Malavika Nair are the female leads. With loads of VFX work, Taxiwaala is hitting the screens on May 18th and is jointly produced by GA2 Pictures, UV Creations.
