Venky keen on one more Remake?

Victory Venkatesh has been idle after the release of Guru in February this year. Though the actor loved many scripts, most of them did not materialize during the final stages of pre-production. The actor is yet to announce his next project officially. Venkatesh who has been remaking interesting films from the past couple of years is said to have been quite interested in the Bollywood film Hindi Medium which impressed the audience bigtime.

Lady director Nandini Reddy has been asked to work on the script and Venkatesh will take a call only after he listens to the final script. Irrfan Khan played the lead role in the original which discussed about the educational system in the country along with the challenges the parents face. Nandini Reddy is currently busy adopting the film to suit the nativity of the Tollywood audience. Nandini Reddy will soon direct Vijay Devarakonda in her next which will start rolling early next year.

Young actor and Akkineni handsome lad Naga Chaitanya is all set to tie knot with actress Samantha in a lavish Goan wedding. The marriage will be strictly a family affair and limited friends of Chaitu and Samantha have been invited for their wedding. Nagarjuna flew the guests to Goa through special flights last night and the wedding celebrations started in style today. Nagarjuna unveiled the first picture of Chaitu after he turned bridegroom for the wedding.

Chaitu posed with his dad Nag and uncle Venkatesh and the wedding will take place at 11.52 PM today as per Hindu tradition. A Christian wedding has been planned tomorrow evening which will be followed by a lavish party. All the guests including Chaitu and Samantha will return back to Hyderabad on Sunday. The wedding will take place at W Hotel, Vagator in Goa and the entire beach faced hotel with a private beach has been locked for the lavish Akkineni’s wedding.

Here comes an exciting update. Telugu360 has exclusively learnt that Akkineni Naga Chaitanya will team up with his maternal uncle and star actor Victory Venkatesh for a multi-starrer to be helmed by Soggade Chinni Nayana director Kalyan Krishna.

Reportedly, the talented director met both Chaitu and Venky recently and narrated the script which was penned by Kona Venkat. Both of them were impressed with the narration and gave the nod to work together. It is heard that Venky will play father in law to Chaitu in this film which is said to be a clean slate family entertainer.

The regular shooting will commence from early next year. More details about this interesting combo will be out very soon.

Victory Venkatesh has been idle for a while and he has been listening to scripts. The actor rejected several films in the recent times and stood silent despite of several speculations making rounds. The latest news is that Venky’s next film has been finalized and it will be directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar. Top producer Dil Raju is first preference , else this project goes go some other producer and an official announcement is awaited.

After a debacle like Brahmotsavam, when Sreekanth has been struggling for an opportunity, Venky asked him to come with an impressive script. The final draft is getting ready and Venkatesh will take a call once he listens to the complete script. Vamshi is said to bankroll this project on Sithara Entertainments if things fall in place. At a time when his contemporaries are competing with younger generation heroes, senior hero Venkatesh has surprisingly slowed down. For the past four years, he has been taking lengthy sabbaticals after each release. Its been five months since the release of his last film, ‘Guru’ and Venky hasn’t yet taken a call on his next film.

As per our reliable sources, Venky wants to work with director Puri Jagannath, who is credited the most for giving makeovers to the actors he works with. Venky too is keen on an image makeover and hence he has been looking forward to working with Puri.

In fact, before announcing ‘Paisa Vasool’ with Balayya, Puri held rounds of story discussions with Venky. The project however didn’t materialize. Some reports said that it was because of the budget constraints and others blamed the half-baked scripts that Puri allegedly narrates. The crazy director’s track record in the last two years was another reason why the project was nipped in the bud itself.

Venky however has still set his eyes on Puri only. He is currently waiting for the result of Paisa Vasool. If Puri can score a hit with the Balayya starrer, then his chances of directing Venky will better as the actor is already keen to work with him.

The biggest hurdle for the materialization of this project is Suresh Babu, who believes in story more than anything else. He doesn’t give his green signal to any project unless he was satisfied with the bound script, however big the director is. Notwithstanding the result of ‘Paisa Vasool’, Puri will have to convince Suresh Babu, and it won’t be as easy as convincing Balayya.

Yuddham Sharanam audio to be launched by star hero

Akkineni Naga Chaitanaya’s upcoming emotional thriller Yuddham Sharanam, which missed out on August release, will hit the screens on September 8th. The film, a Krishna RV Muthu directional, has Lavanya Tripathi as the heroine. The shooting has been wrapped up and post production activities are nearing completion.

The film’s audio launch will be held in on the 27th of this month in Hyderabad at JRC convention hall. Star hero Victory Venkatesh will grace the event as the chief guest. Nagarjuna, Akhil and Samantha will also turn up at the event. The intriguing trailer piqued the curiosity of the audience and increased the expectations on the film.

Rana, Venkatesh in talks for ‘Vikram Vedha’ Telugu remake

R.Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi starrer Tamil gangster drama “Vikram Vedha”, which struck gold at the box-office domestically as well as outside India, will soon be remade in Telugu, a source said.

“Talks have been initiated with Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh for Telugu remake. They were the first choice even before the release of ‘Vikram Vedha’. However, nothing has been finalised yet and the process might take a few more months,” a source from the film’s unit told IANS.

Directed by Pushkar-Gayatri, the film has grossed over Rs 40 crore worldwide in its first week in cinemas.

Released in cinemas last week, the film has turned out to be a blockbuster, earning praise from critics and audiences alike.

Inspired from the popular folklore “Vikram Betaal”, its morality riddles are applied to a police-gangster backdrop.

While Madhavan plays an encounter specialist, Vijay essays the role of a gangster, whose role unanimously won over audiences.

“Vikram Vedha” producer Sashikanth told IANS: “Too early to talk about the remake. But yes, talks are on for the remake. But nothing has been confirmed yet.”

The film also stars Shraddha Srinath, Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar and Kathir.

Venky and Trivikram to join hands for a remake

Bollywood hit movie Jolly LLB 2, which released earlier this year, will soon be remade in Telugu. Popular producer S. Radha Krishna of Haasine and Haarika Creations has bagged the remake rights for a hefty price and is looking to rope in the best team for the Telugu version.

Reportedly, star hero Victory Venkatesh will play reprise Akshay Kumar’s role from the original. It is learnt that wizard of words Trivikram Srinivas will pen the dialogue version of the film. The director and the remaining cast of the film will be revealed shortly.

Jolly LLB 2 is a court room drama which is a sequel to the 2013 hit Jolly LLB. The story of the Telugu version will be tweaked to suit the nativity here.

Recently, there were rumours that he will join hands with Puri Jagannadh. But, there was no official word on this combination. Story :

‘Babu Bangaram’ is the story of a compassionate cop, ACP Krishna (Venkatesh). Unlike typical cops, he is very sensitive, even goes out of the way to help the bad guys as well. One day, ACP Krishna meets the gorgeous Sailaja (Nayanatara), who runs a mess. After realizing that her entire family is dependent on Sailaja’s income, ACP Krishna tries to help her. He also learns that her father is a suspect in a gruesome murder case. Sailaja’s father Sastry witness the murder of an IT officer, orchestrated and executed by the local MLA Puchappa (Posani Murali Krishna) and his friend mafia don Mallesh Yadav (Sampath). Typical Telugu movie plot has Sastry framed as a suspect.

Learning the Sailaja’s hardship and her father’s troubles with the law, ACP Krishna helps them out and brings the MLA and the mafia don to justice.

Analysis:
Director Maruthi, who was successful in developing situational comedy around the hero’s characterization in his previous movies, tried to repeat the same formula. His attempt to generate comedy based on ACP Krishna’s compassionate character (like the comedy with Nani’s absentmindedness in Bhale Bhale Magadivoy) wasn’t very effective. No proper story and mediocre screenplay do not help the movie. In earlier interviews, Venkatesh and Maruti have mentioned the movie to contain ample situational comedy. The reality is that a number of comedy scenes appear to be forced without any context. “30-years industry” Prudhvi stole the show in the first half. In the second half, Bramhanandam and Posani do their bit.

Director Maruthi didn’t take proper care to establish Venki’s character. Right after the interval, ACP was shown as a transformed person, from an easy-going and compassionate guy to a serious guy. And then again director, does comedy scenes on Venky.

However, Babu Bangaram doesn’t test your IQ levels. It is easy going on the audience. Venkatesh and Maruti tried to create a full-fledged commercial movie, however they failed to realize that at Venkatesh’s age it is really difficult to pull off. Also, there are no high points in the movie. Nayanatara’s role has very few scenes and her fans will be disappointed. Posani Krishna Murali excelled in his character.

Songs:
Mostly filler songs, could have been much better. ‘Mallela Vanala ..’, ‘Raaka Raaka vachindi…’ songs which were a chartbusters before release also look very good on screen. Sonam Bajwa’s special appearance item song which is also title song ‘Babu Bangaram..’ , in the second half is beautifully shot. ‘Tikku Tikkantuu..’ bit song was shot on popular TV show Jabardhast’s transgender actors and may appeal to mass audience

Positives:

· Story (Wafer thin) fits Venkatesh’s image
· End to end easy going movie
· Prudhvi, Posani characters
· In second half, couple of action blocks to cater Venky’s action image came out well

Negatives:

· Comedy scenes failed to generate any laughter.
· Songs could have been better
· Clichéd story
· Non engaging screenplay

Verdict:

Director Maruthi missed his opportunity to make it to big league. ‘Babu Bangaram’ is a kind of movie which you won’t regret either watching or skipping. At the box-office, movie can be a success in the B & C centers and will possibly generate a decent revenue in the A centers with the long weekend, catchy title and Victory Venkatesh’s image. In overseas, prospects of this movie are relatively grim. If you don’t mind a template comedy, watch it.

Victory Venkatesh will be back under the arc lights after a brief hiatus. Post Gopala Gopala, Venky hasn’t signed any film till now and the latest update reveals that he has signed a new project which will be directed by Maruthi, who is fresh from the success of recent comedy caper Bhale Bhale Magadivoi.

Close sources to Venky informed that the film has been titled Radha Krishna. Nayanatara will play the lead role and the film is likely to be launched very soon. It is heard that Nayanatara has been offered a solid remuneration for this character. Ghibran is in talks to score the soundtrack for the film.

Post Gopala Gopala, Victory Venkatesh hasn’t signed any film. From the past few months, a couple of directors’ names were heard to direct Venky, but no project was officially announced. All his fans have been eagerly waiting for the launch of his next project.

A close source to the actor informed Telugu360 that his new film will be formally launched on Dusheera. It is heard that Nallamalapu Bujji, who produced Lakshmi and Chintakayala Ravi, will bankroll the film. Reports further state that Dolly of Gopala Gopala fame will wield the megaphone for the project.
