Yeddyurappa does special puja in Hyderabad

0

Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa on Friday participated in a special puja at the ashram of Hindu seer Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swami, on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

Yeddyurappa, who arrived here Thursday, spent the night at the ashram located at Muchintal village in Rangareddy district.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader took the blessings of the seer and participated in the special puja at Seetarama temple in the ashram Friday morning.

BJP sources said Yeddyurappa came to seek the blessings of Chinna Jeeyar Swami after taking over as the Chief Minister of Karnataka.

The BJP leader took oath as the Karnataka Chief Minister last Friday after the collapse of JD(S)-Congress coalition government.

With a new spelling to ward off any bad omen, Yeddyurappa took oath as the Chief Minister for the fourth time. He has not been able to complete a full term as Chief Minister in all his previous three terms.

Yeddyurappa to prove majority on July 29

0

Karnataka’s new Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa on Friday said he would hold a floor test to prove his majority in the state Assembly on Monday (July 29).

“At the cabinet meeting held soon after I took oath as Chief Minister, I decided to go for floor test in the Assembly on Monday at 10 a.m., to prove majority,” the 75-year-old Yeddyurappa said at a press conference in the state secretariat.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, who was sworn-in alone in his fourth term, also said he would table the finance bill after the trust vote to ensure the state budget for this fiscal (2019-20) is passed by the Assembly.

Yeddyurappa also announced that his present one-man cabinet also decided to give Rs 4,000 cash benefit in two instalments of Rs 2,000 each to all farmers across the state under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, and waive loans availed by weavers in the state up to March 31, 2019 at a cost of Rs 100 crore.

Assuring the opposition parties Congress and JD-S of not doing vendetta politics, Yeddyurappa said he would forgive and forget all and work for the development of the state.

“My priority is to address the problems of farmers, weavers, fishermen and agricultural labourers,” he added.

The BJP has 105 members in the 225-member Assembly, whose strength is currently 222 after Speaker K.R. Ramesh Kumar on Thursday disqualified three Congress rebels for defying the whip issued for their presence in the House on July 23 when then Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy put the confidence motion he moved on July 18 to vote but lost.

One Independent is also supporting the BJP.

With all the remaining 13 rebels deciding to abstain from the Assembly till the trust vote is conducted, the Speaker’s decision on their resignations by Monday will make no difference for the trial of strength by Yeddyurappa.

With the absence of the 13, the house strength will be 209, with 105 as the halfway mark for simple majority.

The effective strength of the Congress in the House will be 63 out of original 79, while the JD-S has 34 legislators.

“As the combined strength of the coalition allies will be 97, the BJP will be able to sail through the floor test even if the lone BSP member (N. Mahesh) decides to abstain,” BJP’s spokesman G. Madhusudan told IANS.

Yeddyurappa resigns before floor test

Yeddyurappa, 23rd CM of Karnataka, resigned from CM post ahead of floor test. Floor test was scheduled at 4 pm as per the directive of Supreme court. Before resigning, he made an emotional speech and he spoke about farmers issues and water problems. He did not miss to emphasize loan waiver he did after becoming CM couple of days back.

He told, “I have never done opportunistic politics in my career. Farmers in Karnataka are still poor and they are facing several issues including water problem. After these many years of independence, we are still not been able to address the problems of farmers. My only aim to form the government was to serve the farmers” . He also added that BJP is the largest party in the state which clearly shows people have rejected Congress and BJP.

Anyway it is interesting to see CM belonging to BJP resigning. It is definitely demonstration of old axiom that – Money can’t buy everything in life. Probably this is biggest jolt to BJP in recent times.

Yeddyurappa sworn-in as Karnataka’s 23rd CM

0

BJP’s B S Yeddyurappa takes oath as the 23rd chief minister of Karnataka. Governor Vajubhai invited him to form government after Supreme court cleared the air mid night. Only Yedyurappa took oath and none of the council of ministers were sworn in today.

Bookanakere Siddalingappa Yeddyurappa or B.S.Yeddyurappa took over as CM of Karnatka for 3rd time. Earlier, he was CM during 12 November 2007 – 19 November 2007 and during 30 May 2008 – 31 July 2011. Only Yedyurappa sworn-in now and council of ministers will be expanded only after Yedyurappa proves his strength and passes confidence motion. Supreme court has given 15 days time in which Yedyurappa will have to prove his strength. It is expeced that horse trading of MLAs will be on full swing for next 15 days.

Congress-JDS calls this undemocratic and is confident that Yedyurappa government will not survive. At the same time both the parties have started “resort politics” to ensure their MLAs stick to their own party. Probably during election of speaker, strengths of the parties will be on display and both BJP and Cong-JDS are expected to field their own candidates and that will decide whether Yedyurappa government will continue or not.

Actor Prakash Raj gave statement that Siddaramaiah is much better than a to the power as chief minister and he says that Siddaramaiah last 2 years of ruling has been good Prakash Raj giving such statements just before elections surprised everyone because even though he had been attacking BJP party for last few months he never took completely Congress side.

He spoke in ‘Just Asking’ program And while talking in that program he predicted that Yeddyurappa will not continue in the post of CM for more than three months even if the BJP comes to power in Karnataka. He made some interesting comments on religion too.

He told, he is not against any religion, and the religion should be used as a lamp to show light to the people but it should not be mixed with politics.

when somebody ask why you are talking all this politics now he answered them with another question “Should actors not talk about politics?”
