Tata Motors hands over 50 new mini buses to Telangana

Tata Motors on Thursday delivered 50 new Non-AC mini buses to state-owned Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC).

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Transport Minister P. Mahender Reddy along with officials from TSRTC and Tata Motors were present at the handing over ceremony.

The bus is based on the Tata Ultra LPO mini bus design, with the passenger door ahead of the front axle.

The buses are powered by Tata Motors new three liter, BS four engine, delivering a superior 140 horse power and will provide last mile connectivity for commuters living in the interiors, to the main district, with a capacity to accommodate about 40 passengers, said a statement by Tata Motors.

The mini buses will provide transportation service to the people near their doorstep.

These buses will ply in the rural areas where big buses cannot reach.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister also flagged off 60 “Vajra mini A/C buses” which will pick up and drop passengers at their chosen location.

The Chief Minister said this was an innovative service in the country.

The buses will ply from Hyderabad to Nizamabad and Warangal. These Vajra A/C buses will have 21 seats.

The buses flagged off on Thursday were part of 1,393 buses planned to be procured by TSRTC with a government guarantee loan of Rs.350 crore.
