Hyderabad: When Hyderabadis are celebrating the arrival of silver medalist PV Sindhu on Monday morning, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mohammad Mahmood Ali made some comments during a press conference on badminton star Sindhu and India’s badminton chief coach Pullela Gopichand. Probably out of sheer excitement, the Deputy Chief Minister said that although present coach Gopichand is good, the Telangana government would find a better coach, if required in the future, to train PV Sindhu.
Although his intention was not to replace the present coach Gopichand with a new coach at present, some online media outlets made a news of the issue followed by the vernacular media. “I am requesting the players not to lose hope, the Telangana government would extend help in training the young talent,” the Telangana Dy CM said.
He also lay claimed saying PV Sindhu is girl from Telangana. “Sindhu hamaari Telangana ki bheti hain,” (Sindhu is daughter of Telangana and we are all proud of her) he said.
