Hyderabad: Several doubts are being raised over allocation of Krishna river waters as the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal-II headed by Justice Brijesh Kumar is slated to give its judgement in a few hours on Wednesday. Now the question is whether the allocation is among the two States (Maharashtra, Karnataka) or the Telugu States are also included?

A high-level committee along with legal experts from Telangana already reached Delhi to argue the case demanding re-allocation among all the four States as per Section 89 of AP Reorganisation Act. It is interesting to see how the verdict will be from the Brijesh Tribunal.

Adivisor to the State government (Irrigation) R. Vidyasagar Rao, Chief Engineer (Inter State & Water Resources) S Narasimha Rao and other officials were in the team.

It may be recalled that combined AP government had stayed publication of the Brijesh Kumar Tribunal report alleging that severe injustice was meted out to Andhra Pradesh after the dependability was brought down to 65 per cent by the Tribunal against the mentioned 75 percent in Bachawat Tribunal Award.

The combined AP government argued that there was severe injustice being done to it compared to upper riparian States of Maharashtra and Karnataka.

As per the directions of the Supreme Court, the Brijesh Kumar Tribunal has been hearing the arguments for the past one year. After formation of Telangana, the TRS government argued that it should also get fair amount of water.
