Former Congress MP Undavalli Aruna Kumar felt that the episode of former TTD’s Board Member Sekhar Reddy, who was caught with Rs 70 crore new currency notes makes Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonetization move a big failure. Due to sudden death of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, changing political equations may makes him to fall in IT net, but it exposes that large number of `influential’ people could get access of huge amounts of new currency notes, he added.

In an TV news channel interview, he wonder that when common people are suffering to get few notes from ATMs and banks, who few people are getting crores of rupees new notes ? It seems directly from RBI boxes containing those notes are being diverted to some houses.

He accused that on the very first day of demonetization, the Narendra Modi government was proved most inefficient when bank officials found new Rs 2,000 notes kept in ATMs re not coming want for want of some technical adjustment.

He also took severe exception for Prime Minister’s comments that only those corrupt are opposing this move. Contrary, he said big tax avoiders like Ambani and Adani while supporting the move, leaders known for their clean public life like Mamata Banerjee and Arvind Kejriwal are opposing.

He heckled government’s move for cashless economy. This clearly indicates how the government is diverting from its original aims of checking black money and fake currency. If it wasn’t to promote plastic currency, if announced some incentive like for every one rupee spending there would be 5 or 10 paisa cash back, he said most of the people would turn with in a very short time. Instead of simple exercises, he asked why the government makes crores of people suffers.

Lamenting Modi’s move as a mindless act, Arun Kumar cautions that it would be disastrous impact on our economy for a long time and the entire nation has to pay heavy price.
