Superstar Rajinikanth boasts huge fan base in overseas. His latest film Kaala released in record number of locations, but couldn’t take a strong opening due to underwhelming buzz and exorbitant ticket pricing.
The Wednesday premiers collections of Kaala are utterly disappointing for trade circles as it managed to rake in only $ 520K from all locations. Comparing with Kabali’s $ 1.9 M opening, Kaala start can be termed as the weakest opening in Rajinikanth’s career.
On Thursday, Kaala collected a meagre $ 226K to take the total to near $750K. On Friday , it has collected $312K and total gross reached $1,057K. Kaala needs a strong first weekend to emerge as a respectable box office outing in Rajinikanth’s career.
