One success can change the fate of a filmmaker in film industry. Lot of top production houses approach a successful director and they pay hefty amounts as advance to lock the talented filmmaker. Things happened the same with Vikram Kumar during his initial days after the super success of 13B and Ishq. C Aswhini Dutt paid advance for Vikram Kumar and the young director too promised a film for his Vyjayanthi Movies.
However Vikram Kumar did not honor his commitment and went on to direct films like Manam, 24 and Hello. Ashwini Dutt approached the Film Chamber and Directors Council. Now Vikram Kumar has been fined with Rs 1.5 crores. He has been asked to pay Rs 1.5 crores from the remuneration of his next film to Vyjayanthi Movies. Though it is unclear about the amount paid by Ashwini Dutt during those days, he is now getting a hefty cheque from Vikram’s pay which can be enough to produce a small budget film.
There are talks that Vikram Kumar will soon direct Nani in his next and the film will roll next year.
