Weekend Domestic Report : New Releases Below Par, Maharshi continues to rake shares

0

With schools reopened and a big cricket match happened on Sunday, the numbers were low over the weekend at the box office.

New Releases :

Sapthagiri’s Vajra Kavachadhara Govinda was best among the new releases with a distributor share of little over 1 Cr in domestic markets. The collections are below par and less than the hero’s last release Sapthagiri LLB. The film will end up as a failure at the box office.

Tapsee’s Game Over which opened low on Friday has picked up well in Multiplexes over the weekend owing to good word of mouth. These type of films are very much limited to A centres / Multiplexes. It needs to sustain on weekdays in these centres to end up as an average venture.

Viswamitra & Upendra’s Kannada dub I love you had dismal collections and will end up as a disasters at the box office.

Holdovers:

Maharshi: Last weekend to this weekend drop for the film is more when compared to the previous weekends which is obvious with schools getting reopened. The film has collected more than 90 cr share in domestic markets making it fourth to achieve this mark. It has incurred losses to distributors in ceeded and nellore areas but can be called as a Hit owing to very good performance in some of the other markets like Nizam, UA, East, West & Guntur. Hit !

Killer is a relief for the hero Vijay Antony who was struggling to score a success after the blockbuster Bichagadu. The film is a safe venture for the buyers as it was sold for very low rates. Above Average!
