Former MP and YSRCP senior leader M V Mysoora Reddy is asked to head Rayalaseema Ikya Sadassu (RIS) to fight for due share of Rayalaseema.

Hyderabad: Pressure is reportedly mounting on the YSRCP senior leader M V Mysoora Reddy to led front the Rayalaseema Ikya Sadassum (RIS), an organization planed on the lines of TRS. According to the sources, the RIS is scheduled to hold a meeting on November 21 at Tirupathi, to bring together prominent people of all shades from Rayalseema to take part in it, and to raise their voice, demanding for justice to the region.

The bone of contention of the leaders so far working from behind to give a shape to it list out several things as to why they wanted to form the RIS. According to one senior leader from the Congress party with whom the leaders of RIS are keeping in touch argue, that even after the bifurcation of the State, the region is being neglected as it had got a raw deal in United AP. Though, both the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, and Leader of the Opposition (LOP) in the State Assembly are from Rayalaseema, most important and key projects coming as part of the Andhra Pradesh State Re-organisation Act have been taken to Krishna and Guntur districts. This “was due to the fact that both the leaders have survive on the majority vote that keeps them in power comes from the coastal Andhra Pradesh,” is what they feel, the Congress leader said.

Also, while the government has initiated to take up the Agriculture University at Guntur, as the same time it has neglected the Sri Venkateswara Agriculture University, which has a better track record and infrastructure. Similarly, not adhering to local reservation to the students in the admission of medical seat at Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), negligence in taking up irrigation projects like Handri-Neeva, Galeru-Nagari, Telugu Ganga on priority basis to quench the thrust of the backward regions too would figure in the agenda of the RIS meeting, the sources added.

However, while some leaders wanted the RIS in the make to lead with an agenda for a separate State, some others are reportedly refusing to by such argument. “Instead of being a separate state, it would better to function as a pressure group to get due share to Rayalaseema for its development was the stand taken by some others.”
It was to act as a bridge between the two groups that now the YSRCP leaders is asked to head and led from the front. “Even Mysoora Reddy too is not in favour of a separate state. So, it remains to be seen how far it would be give positive response to head the RIS is to be seen,” said another leader from Proddatur.
