Tollywood senior actor and Hindupur MLA from Telugu Desam Party Nandamuri Balakrishna already announced long back that he will set up Basavatarakam cancer hospital in Andhra Pradesh capital city Amaravati similar to the one in Hyderabad. On the eve of the silver jubilee celebrations in Hyderabad this Sunday, Balayya confirmed that a 300-bed Cancer hospital will be opened in Amaravati in the first phase very soon.
Balakrishna stated that he didn’t establish Basavatarakam cancer hospital for mercenary gains or other benefits but only to provide affordable medication to those who suffer from the life threatening disease. He said that the idea to set up the hospital came from the loss of her mother who suffered from cancer. He recalled how the tiny 110 bed hospital transformed into one of the biggest hospital with state-of-the-art facilities and modern medical equipment.
Balakrishna thanked the Telangana government for its support and also expressed gratitude towards Health minister Damodar Raja Narasimha. He also extended thanks to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for its support. He announced that a 300 bed will be established in the first phase and will be extended with all modern facilities and amenities in the coming years. He appreciated all those donors who came forward to chip in for establishing cancer hospital in Amaravati.
