Bandi Sanjay Kumar, is set to appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Friday, August 8, in connection with the ongoing Telangana phone tapping case. He is expected to submit key technical evidence to support his claim that his phone and those of his family members were illegally tapped during the previous BRS government.
Sources say Sanjay has collected crucial data and is prepared to present it to the SIT. Officials from the Union Home Ministry, along with former senior police officers and intelligence experts, recently held a closed-door meeting with Sanjay in Hyderabad. The discussion reportedly focused on the surveillance methods used and the technical proof backing his allegations.
This marks a significant development, as Bandi Sanjay will be the first Union Minister to appear before the SIT in this case. He has long accused the former government of misusing state intelligence units like the Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB) to target political rivals.
Technical evidence reportedly confirms that Sanjay’s phone was among those most frequently monitored. The SIT has already questioned several individuals and is now preparing to formally record Sanjay’s statement.
The investigation also names Prabhakar Rao, former Intelligence Bureau Chief, as a prime accused. As the probe widens, more revelations are expected in what has become one of the most talked-about political controversies in the state.
The SIT’s next steps and Sanjay’s evidence could prove crucial in uncovering the full scale of the alleged surveillance network.
