Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates will visit Andhra Pradesh on February 16. The state government has released the official schedule for his tour. During the visit, Gates will review projects supported by the Gates Foundation and hold high level meetings with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and IT Minister Nara Lokesh. Discussions will center on expanding cooperation in education, healthcare, and agriculture.
RTGS Review and Vision 2047 Presentation
Gates will arrive at the State Secretariat in Amaravati at 10 am and visit the RTGS center to examine how technology is integrated into governance. The Chief Minister will present the Real Time Governance model and outline Swarna Andhra Vision 2047 goals. Key reforms in public health, agriculture modernization, and education will be highlighted during the review meeting.
A major focus of the visit is the Sanjeevani project, already being implemented in Chittoor district with Gates Foundation support. The initiative aims to strengthen medical technology and diagnostic services. The state has also partnered with the foundation to deploy AI tools in healthcare, education, and agriculture. Digital health records and advanced public health monitoring systems are part of this collaboration.
AI Driven Agriculture Demonstration
After official meetings, Gates and his delegation will visit an agricultural field near Undavalli village in Amaravati. There they will observe drone based farming and artificial intelligence driven crop management techniques designed to improve productivity and reduce risks for farmers.
Quantum Valley and Microsoft Investment
The visit may also provide clarity on Microsoft’s proposed investment of ₹1,772.08 crore in Amaravati’s Quantum Valley. The company plans to set up a 1,200 qubit quantum computer facility with 50 logical qubits. A dedicated 4,000 square foot building is proposed for the project. This initiative is expected to position Amaravati as a major technology hub in advanced computing.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu described Bill Gates’ third visit to Andhra Pradesh as a continuation of a long partnership that began during the Hitec City phase and later during Visakhapatnam AgriTech initiatives. He expressed confidence that Amaravati will witness transformative growth similar to earlier technology driven urban expansions. Gates is also scheduled to attend the AI Summit in Delhi on February 19, where the Chief Minister is expected to participate.
