Centre continues to sing the same old song

Hyderabad: Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley continues to sing the same old song with the regard to the special status for Andhra Pradesh.

While the AP government along with the opposition parties including Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan declaring to fight tooth and nail against the Centre for the special status, the Centre has once again reiterated that it would provide financial package more than what the AP could get from the special status tag.

Along with the promise to fill the deficit budget of cash-starved State, various special financial aids beside special railway zone Vijayawada as centre, package for Polavaram Project, expenditure for building new capital Amaravati are expected to be announced by the Centre later on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Sujana Chowdhary and Rajya Sabha member CM Ramesh met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and discussion various issues pertaining to both the States of AP and Telangana. Issues related to the financial package came to the fore during the meeting. Later, they met Union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu and discussed the issue related to the demand of special status.

Although a statement was expected from the Centre on special status on Tuesday, it is postponed to Wednesday following discussion on Kashmir issue when Union Ministers along with Arun Jaitley met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
