Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu seems to be locked in dilemma on the induction of Nandyala MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy into his cabinet. Having elected as YSRCP candidate, Reddy joined TDP in January, last year, along with his MLA daughter Bhuma Akhila Priya, following a promise from the Chief Minister that he would be inducted into his cabinet soon.

Since then, Reddy has been waiting impatiently expecting to become a minister. However, Chief Minister has been postponing cabinet reshuffle on one or other reason. As finally he has indicated that cabinet reshuffle is on cards, all of a sudden Bhuma’s detractors within TDP started aggressively campaigning against his induction into the cabinet.

Since the time of Reddy’s admission into TDP, powerful sections of the party have been strongly opposing the move objecting towards his `faction politics’. Prominently Shilpa brothers in Nandyala and Gangula family in Allagadda have been opposing this move by all means.

Though initially, Chief Minister succeeded in pacifying discontent leaders assuring that interests of all leaders will be taken care, Nagi Reddy’s highhanded behaviour has been raising controversies frequently. Now, all of them seems to be alerted at once knowing that the time for his ministerial berth is nearing. Shilpa brothers directly met Chief Minister and registered their protest. Gangula Chandrasekhar Reddy, who failed to get appointment with Chief Minister is now making moves to desert the party.

Worrying that such trends would weaken party’s fortunes in Kurnool district, Chandrababu Naidu is now has reportedly re-thinking on his move. According to TDP sources, he has summoned the services of a Bangalore-based agency to gather public opinion on the impact of Nagi Reddy’s elevation. The agency has already started its survey collecting data on public mood in this regard.

Chief Minister is expected to take a final decision on the basis of this survey. Bhuma’s detractors in the district are seems to be confident in no way public will endorse him.
