Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday made a strong appeal to the remaining Maoist leaders in hiding, urging them to surrender and join the mainstream to lead a peaceful and constructive life. Speaking at a meeting held at the Goshamahal Police Stadium in connection with Police Commemoration Day, he emphasised the importance of embracing public life for the country’s development.
“I appeal to you to join the mainstream of life. Some key Maoist leaders have recently surrendered, and I urge those still in hiding to follow suit. By coming forward, you can contribute positively to society and become partners in the nation’s development,” Revanth Reddy said.
The Chief Minister also recognized the tireless efforts of Telangana police officers, commending their commitment to public welfare. He highlighted the state’s progressive approach in promoting women officers to key positions within the police force. “It is a matter of pride for our government that women IPS officers are now leading crucial departments such as the Telangana Police Academy, Prisons Department, SIB, ACB, CID, Vigilance, Armed Reserve, CCS, and Cyber Security Bureau,” he stated.
Revanth Reddy noted that seven women officers are serving as Zone DCPs in major commissionerates including Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda. He praised their leadership, stating that Telangana has set an example for the country by empowering women to lead even multiple key departments effectively.
The Chief Minister acknowledged the challenges faced by the police, from crime control and investigation to traffic management, patrolling, and VIP protection. He stressed the government’s responsibility to ensure that officers perform their duties without hindrance. “Our government has taken significant steps for the welfare of the police. Since coming to power, we have recruited nearly 16,000 constables and sub-inspectors and created an environment where police officers can work freely without political interference,” he added.
CM Revanth Reddy’s remarks underlined his government’s commitment to law enforcement and public safety, while also calling for peace and the reintegration of insurgent elements into mainstream society. His message highlighted the importance of cooperation, discipline, and dedication for both the police and citizens in building a secure and progressive Telangana.
