Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika originally started in the direction of Krish. However, after Krish left the project to take up NTR biopic movie, Kangana took over the project, changed some of the artistes and re-shot most of the film in her own direction. This invited lot of criticism on her. Actor Sonu sood, director Krish and many others criticized her for the unilateral decisions she took. The movie got released yesterday. Did Kangana give befitting reply to her critics ? or did she prove her interference spoiled the movie?
Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika released yesterday got mostly positive reviews. Even though the movie started off slowly despite republic day holiday, the word of mouth is spreading slowly. However, Kangana Ranaut’s fierce performance as Rani of Jhansi is appreciated by many and in fact she did steal the show. Reviews pointed that Ranaut as Rani stands out in the movie meant to extol the queen’s bravery, fairness and progressiveness.
Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma showered praises on Manikarnika actress and compared the intensity in her acting with Bruce lee. He tweeted, ” The last time I saw such fierce body language and such fury in the eyes as in KANGANA RANAUT in #Manikarnika was only in BRUCE LEE in #EnterTheDragon. All action heroes look like heroines in comparison to the greatest hero I ever saw on screen #KanganaRanaut in #Manikarnika.”
Many others pointed that, despite flat-narration, what keeps us glue to the screen is Kangana Ranaut’s blazing performance on the screen. Kangana seems to have given befitting reply to those who criticized her and belittled her directorial abilities.
