While several Diwali releases have struggled to make an impact, Pradeep Ranganathan’s latest release, Dude, has raced ahead as the festive frontrunner, impressing both critics and audiences with a stellar opening.

Helmed by debutant Keerthiswaran and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Dude made a remarkable impression with 235.64K tickets sold on BookMyShow on Day 1, marking the best opening among all Diwali releases this year.

The film, featuring Mamitha Baiju in a leading role is clearly resonating with both younger viewers and family audiences. In overseas as well, Dude has seen a fantastic start, grossing over $300K on its opening day in North America.

With the extended Diwali weekend still ahead, trade analysts predict a sustained and possibly record-setting theatrical run for a mid-range hero.
