TRS MP and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter K Kavitha visit to Vijayawada, to take part in the National Women’s Parliament conclave in Amaravati seems to be embarrassing Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who invited her.

Though no one may have any objection to her speech at the conclave raising the roles of women in the political system, along with issues pertaining to the Indian political system, her mentioning of Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh, really embarrassed the Chief Minister.

At a time the Telugu Desam Party and its government making it clear that `SCS was a closed chapter’, Kavitha backed the demand and described it as just and said she would join the people of AP for securing it. Reiterating her party’s strong support for AP’s SCS, she even makes suggestion whom to be approached in this regard.

Moreover, in almost as a direct attack on the Chief Minister, she advised the State leaders not to compromise on the demand. She recalled that during the elections, BJP promised SCS to AP. Venkaiah Naidu, Chandrababu Naidu and even Pawan Kalyan assured it. Now, she made it clear that it is their responsibility to make sure that the State gets it.

It may be recalled that in recent times, Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan has been attempting to corner Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this issue, ignoring Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s role.

Indirectly pointing out that Chandrababu Naidu `compromising’ with the Centre on this issue due to obvious reasons, Kavitha bluntly suggested Pawan Kalyan to address the issue with Chandrababu Naidu, besides Venkaiah Naidu, before heading towards a people’s movement.

Meanwhile, asserting the need for the people of two Telugu states to work together for promoting interests of both the states, the TRS MP clarified that even though the two Telugu states are divided geographically, Telangana would strive for the betterment of Telugu people in both the states.
