Ever heard the phrase “Operation Success but patient dead” ? Well, it is a scenario where technically, the work is a success but the end result is not favourable for anyone. Something similar is now happening in the case of a senior producer.
We are talking about the producer of ‘Kalyana Vaibhogame’, Mr. Damodar Prasad. The film is running very well and it is doing phenomenal business in all markets, especially in the US.
But despite all of this, not even a single penny has come in for the producer. Shocking though it may be, it is the fact. The distributors are not paying any money as they are the same bunch that took a heavy beating with ‘Speedunnodu’. That and some losses accumulated in ‘Anthaka Mundhu Aa Tarvatha’ are some of the reasons for this trend.
Negotiations are on with the distributors and the money may trickle in a little later. But for now, all that the producer can do is take refuge in the acclaim coming in for the film. The film’s satellite rights and remake rights are still with the producer and in the end, only these two may be the trump cards that will bring him rich rewards.
