What was supposed to be a grand celebration for ‘They Call Him OG’ turned into a chaotic mess on Saturday evening. Thousands of fans, who had gathered hours in advance with sky-high expectations, were left disappointed as the much-hyped event was disrupted by heavy rain.
The venue was packed by 4 PM, with fans eagerly waiting to see their favourite star Pawan Kalyan and witness the official trailer launch. But soon after the event kicked off, light showers quickly turned into a downpour. Thaman managed to perform one or two songs before the rain took over. Pawan Kalyan, in full OG costume, made a powerful appearance on stage and delivered a brief but energetic speech, braving the rain. His presence was the only highlight of the evening, giving fans something to cheer about in an otherwise underwhelming show.
Interestingly, the team was reportedly aware of the weather forecast and had initially considered shifting the event to Shilpa Kala Vedika, an indoor venue. However, they chose to stick with the LB stadium. Adding to the fans’ disappointment, the OG trailer, which was expected to be unveiled during the event, was postponed. Although the trailer was supposed to be released earlier in the day, post-production work (specifically DI) was still incomplete. Even Pawan Kalyan insisted on showing it without DI, but it wasn’t technically feasible.
The event may not have gone as planned, but Pawan Kalyan’s loyal fanbase, soaked and cheering in the rain, proved once again why the actor continues to hold a special place in their hearts. Let’s just hope the trailer delivers the kind of storm fans were really waiting for.
