Fan Letter : Sri Reddy Issue — Pawan Fans are the victims and hurt

There is a great dialogue in Businessman where Mahesh babu talks about how we watch puli-jinka episode in Discovery channel. We have least concern for victim but we are just angry on Tiger and we don’t want it to win.

A slightly modified version of this applies to Telugu media channels off late. They are least bothered about victim or the problem of the victim, the objective is to extend the issue and gain TRP’s by conducting useless debates, and in the process creating these monsters who think they are above all, with least of qualifications. Lets take case in point Mahaa TV and the way they handled 2 issues off late.

One is of Special Status fight we all are fighting. What did Mahaa Murthy do in that case? He rallied all across Andhra conducted debates and singled out centre and BJP who is the real cause for we not being granted special status. So, there is a clear structure here. There is a problem, there is a debate all across with all stake holders involved (all party representatives in his debates) and then since solution is with Central government the target is clearly identified and talked about. There is no TRP issue here because there is no masala you can add to the topic, so people who are interested in politics and debates around it will watch despite of what they could do.

And then there are topics of Kathi Mahesh and Sree Reddy. Two unknown entities to the world, and their only identity was their issues they came out with. According to above theory, Mahaa Murthy should have reached out to Pawan Kalyan directly for his comment in Kathi Mahesh case, or to Abhiram Daggubati directly in case of Sree reddy after her accusations where the problems could be solved or concluded. I am fairly sure they have access to both people. Did they even try to do it? Rather they have got (same set of people in both cases) people to debate on it – the namesake social activists. Only god knows how 90% of the calls that are made to these programs support them and how the media couldn’t take a balanced view in these debates. Here clearly they want to project Pawan or TFI as Tiger and want to prey on it/them for TRPs.

In the process of doing above, they would have gained TRP’s but created two monsters who think they can do anything and talk anything, in the name of constitutional rights. Your right to speak in India doesn’t allow you to talk anything which hurt other people. And with your right to talk, comes your right to behave in a socially responsible manner. The remarks made today by Sree reddy or the language used multiple times by Kathi Mahesh clearly shows their urge to instigate Pawan Kalyan fans. Pawan Kalyan fans never attacked Kathi Mahesh or Sree Reddy physically, except for eggs incident on Kathi Mahesh which is not appreciated. But, repeated use of expletives and instigation by them doesn’t count, is it?

Aren’t Pawan Kalyan fans victims here?? Why is even Pawan Kalyan being targeted and his fans are being hurt for no reason in Sree Reddy issue?? If they have a problem with casting couch that is then on producers and directors, not actors, so why should MAA intervene here? If the problem is with junior artists then there is a junior artists’ association, if the problem is with production coordinators they should go to producers council. Why should even MAA or Chiru or Pawan or Balayya or Mahesh come in here??

You don’t go to bigwigs with your problem, you don’t go to police or judiciary system with your problem, and yet you today question them that your problem is not solved?

Media is creating these monsters by giving them so much of exposure and TV time that they don’t need. Farmers from Shettipally of Tirupathi came and visited Pawan 2 days back with their problem. They said if their problem is not solved their entire village will commit suicide. What is effort of Mahaa or other TRP hungry channels such as TV9 and ABN to take this issue and talk with same conviction to solve the problem? There are many issues which needed time on TV to get exposure, and this casting couch is the least of the problems compared to them. I hope channels will behave more responsibly in raising issues with people who have real problems, not definitely with a person like Sree Reddy who talks rubbish and expletives live on TV. You are simply hurting so many fans in the process who would otherwise focus their energies on something positive, and the worst thing is we are not even being identified as victims!!!!
