Sumanth’s Malli Raava overseas collections

As trade circles await for the release of big ticket films, the overseas box office has experienced yet another dull weekend as new releases failed to make a mark. Sumanth’s Malli Raava is only notable film which released last Friday amidst decent expectations. The romantic entertainer managed only lukewarm openings in the first weekend.

The film, which got decent talk from special premiers in Hyderabad, got off to a slow start with $17K from its Thursday premiers in overseas. On Friday and Saturday, there is hardly any improvement in the collections as it managed to collect $ 30K and $ 35K. By the end of Sunday, the overall collections touched $ 100K mark making it a below par run at the overseas box office.

Released by its producer himself through Blue Sky Cinemas, the film might just recover the print and publicity expenses.

The slow paced narration and the lack of commercial elements were the undoing aspects which impacted the film’s collections in the first weekend. Directed by Gautham Tinnanuri, the film has Akansha Singh as the female lead.
