RK offers a variety ‘conditional apology’ to Sharmila

1

The ABN reports on the serious differences between CM Jagan Reddy and his sister YS Sharmila have caused political tremors in Telugu states. The Sakshi media immediately released a signed statement of Sharmila who dismissed the ABN reports as baseless. Now, it has become the turn of the ABN to prove that its reports were true. There was no chance to do so because Sharmila herself released a duly signed press statement.

Talking about this in his latest Weekend Comment, ABN Radha Krishna has come forward to offer his apology to Sharmila but he put a very tactical condition. Both Sharmila and Vijayamma should swear on the Bible that what the ABN has reported was baseless and unfounded.
Obviously, RK seems to have found out the ‘weak point’ in the mother-daughter duo who were known for their unquestioned devotion to their religious faith. The whole State saw how they carried the Bible even during the election campaigns and played a critical role in bringing Jagan Reddy to power.
At the same time, RK said that Sharmila did not write the statement that was published by Sakshi in her name. Somebody else wrote that statement. Vijayamma carried that to Bangalore and got Sharmila’s signature.
RK still stood by his report that Sharmila made some preparations for her new political party.

Whole AP a mafia hub: Andhra Jyothi on Anam

0

No doubt, the AP government has taken an iron grip on the sand and liquor sales with its arbitrary policies. In a way, the ruling party MLAs and Ministers are calling the shots and dictating terms in these aspects. The opposition leaders Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan and BJP have accused YCP of running a mafia-like rule in the state. Amid such allegations, CM Jagan Reddy got a rude shock from within his party. His party MLA Anam Ramanarayana Reddy has commented that Nellore people are suffering very badly because of the organised sand, liquor, land grab and bettings mafias. Obviously, Anam’s comments came as a big boost to the opposition parties which are already making such allegations.

Taking this advantage, the Andhra Jyothi has given a new interpretation to Anam Ramanarayana Reddy’s statements. It says that the comprehensive mafia rule was not just confined to Nellore city. The whole Andhra is reeling under the grip of this mafia. The paper made an ultimate criticism of Jagan Reddy Rule by saying that honest IPS officers are being targetted if they oppose mafia regime. The recent transfers of Nellore, Chittoor and Kadapa SPs were an example of how district level YCP leaders are dictating terms to the police department.

Election effect on Andhra Jyothy?

0

Most of the media houses nowadays are openly supporting political parties. In Telugu states, even a school kid can say which media house supports or owned by which political party. Now there is a debate that Andhra Jyothy paper, who gave a shocker to KCR before elections is at receiving end.

Details as below:

Andhra Jyothy paper and TV channel, as every one knows, openly supports TDP and its supremo Chandra babu naidu. However, after TDP losing its ground, it became staunch supporter of TRS party between 2015-2018. All these years, Andhra Jyothy supported TRS and the benefit of supporting ruling party is, as eveyone knows, getting full-page and ads and other ads from the government. However, Andhra Jyothy gave a shocker to KCR and TRS, by suddenly changing its stand and completely supporting Praja kootami led by Congress and TDP. Andhra Jyothy went overboard and it over-hyped Praja kootami. At a point of time, it ran stories predicting TRS’s defeat. There is nothing wrong in writing such stories, if they are really genuine. But the media house that supported TRS all these 4 years and ran highly positive stories that time, suddenly changing the tune surprised people and irked TRS leadership.

There have been reports that TRS may cut down the ads given to Andhra Jyothi in future. KTR, reportedly expressed his displeasure over the way Andhra Jyothi behaved during election. TRS followers gave ads to newspapers today and surprisingly many other newspapers got the ads but not Andhra Jyothi. Many people are debating whether this move by TRS followers is any indication of TRS stand on this paper in future. Only time will answer to that question.

High Court issues notice to ABN RK’s son and GoAP

0

YSRCP Mangalagiri MLA Alla RamaKrishna Reddy filed a petition against Advanced Telecommunications company and Government of Andhra Pradesh for unilaterally procuring and giving the rights of recording assembly sessions. The company is owned by ABN Andhra Jyothy MD Vemuri RadhaKrishna’s son Vemuri Aditya.

Rama Krishna through an RTI procured information regarding the recording rights. The RTI response stated that due to lack of time to call for tenders, upon Speaker Kodela Shiva Prasad Rao’s decision the rights were given to Aditya’s Advanced Telecom Company until 2018.

The YSRCP MLA in his petition stated that it is illegal to give away rights without calling the tenders. High Court which accepted the petition, issued notices to AP government and Aditya’s firm to file counter within two weeks.

YSRCP made several allegations related to the assembly sessions recording. They contended that the clippings of ruling party’s slip-ups are being hidden while the faults of opposition leaders are intentionally being released to public.

Now that the High Court has accepted the inquiry, hopefully full details regarding the contracts will be exposed.
